What I consider as a personal experience with God might be explained in some other way, but an alternative explanation does not defeat my personal explanation by default. The fact that it exists does not eliminate the possibility of my interpretation of personal experience as being correct. I just cannot consider it objectively demonstrating the existence of God. That is the nature of such things.
True. But the brain can still be a funny thing indeed. Even what feels real, what we are certain real, is the result of a faulty cognitive process of stimulus interpretation error and memory recall failures being abundant, and yet our brains love to fill in the gaps. We arent even very good about recalling things we went through, let alone things of a supernatural nature.

'God' is difficult to explain, but it helps to start with the 'Invisible' attribute. I've seen the term 'Evidence' appear in the conversation, but this doesn't relate to an invisible God. It would not relate to the God of antiquity, the God that is intangible and invisible. We want to feel God around us. We want to feel confident, protected, hugged. That is making God human. Its kind of sappy and far from the experience of those with huge runs of bad luck, and there are a lot of such people.

A lot of people with good luck (me at one time or another) have trouble seeing why people would even bother with an invisible God. They ask relevant questions like "Why even bother with God when God doesn't do anything, doesn't interact, doesn't seem to care." These are quite relevant questions if God only matters to you when God can do things for you or doesn't stop things you don't want to happen. Then perhaps you won't grasp what I am talking about. Maybe you will. Perhaps invisible is too strong a word and you would require some means of seeing God in order to find any relevance. Its a perfectly human point of view. I would be hard put to criticize anyone for it.

You are confused because the question has no sense: there are two of them. Two spirits: Holy Spirit and evil spirit (satan, also known under name "Death"). Any taste is satisfied: atheists follow the satan because he lost the existence (he is zombie like Adolf Hitler), and theists love Holy Spirit because He is the source of all existence.

Because I have verified it from within for myself.

Ah, so you came up with a hypothesis and then you verified it for yourself from within. A rather bizarre method for determining reality, but it tells me everything I need to know about how much you care about finding actual truth.

I'm all ears. If you would like to share what you have learned about the actual truth with us I'd be more than willing to listen. I always like learning.

Hebrews 3:4, NLT: "For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God."

Simple and succinct.

Have you ever read about the relationship between matter and energy? Matter appears and gets destroyed, but according to the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, energy has always existed! Existing in one form or changing to another, energy has always been! God is it’s source....he is energy. Jehovah has always existed.

[interesting that, although Science doesn’t recognize invisible life because it can’t measure it, science has provided an answer to the question usually asked sarcastically, “Who created God?” (Answer; No one, He has always existed!)]

Now, observing the elegance and complex data format creating function within all material structures, and the forces holding them together, it’s easy to discern an intelligence behind it! Far more complex than a house.

He has always existed! Man I love it!

Close your eyes and the whole wave function collapses. ;)
I have a feeling that you don't know what "collapse of the wave function" means.

In fact, it may be exactly the opposite of what you think it means. Collapse of the wave functions happens when a quantum system gets measured and the superposition of possible states collapses into one reality.

Open your eyes and a lot of wave functions collapse.

As society marches on, religion is forced to take more and more from the esoteric mystics to justify itself and rely less on exoteric literalism. Adam and Eve are now a metaphor. The tower of Babel is a metaphor.

Eventually, I hope the religious (and anti-religious alike) finally catch up to the mystics and realize that God is a metaphor, too.

Does God really exist?
In my understanding there is not just one God but countless Gods and Buddhas in heavenly realm:) that Said it is my belief that it is so. I can not prove it to others.
The spiritual journey i am on is a personal journey, to find answer to questions like the one you asked here :)

Search within your self and maybe you find the answer you looking for :)

Oooo... multiple votes allowed. :):)

No, God does not exist for me.
Yes, God can exist for you.

People can create any God they want. I choose not to.

Either:
1 - God created the universe
2 - a fairy created the universe

But no, the universe did not create itself when it didn't exist.

Strong atheist, monist. Even the possibility of existence of God/Allah/Bhagwan does not exist.

Appropos Stvdv, "Truth alone is God in the world ... there is no position higher than truth"
"Satyam eva Ishwaro loke ... Satyen nasti param padam." Lord Rama in Valmiki Ramayana

Where did God, Allah, Fairies, Flying Spaghetti Monster or Cthulhu arose from?
That's a good list.
What do you mean by Savior?
You left the resurrection behind?
Yeah, he did that in consideration of the Bahais, since you neither believe that Jesus was the son of God nor that he resurrected after death. :)

Does God really exist?

I'm afraid your poll doesn't allow for those of us who can't answer either way, even if only having a little doubt or belief - myself being a bit agnostic on any such existence but mainly not believing in such. :(

Welcome to RF, hope you enjoy.

Does god exist?

Which god, there are several thousand gods mentioned throughout history, all immortal, or so it is said.

Each magically appears at the birth of a new religion (on some cases can be borrowed by other religions) and fades into obscurity as the religion(s) die out.

I have never seen evidence of any of them, most that has historically been claimed of a god is superseded by scientific endeavour or knowledge that does away with superstition. As for the remainder, science says "we don't know" religion says "we have faith that god did it".

I consider faith without evidence to be a guess.

So i conclude that all the claimed gods are creations of the human mind (as far as we know there are no animals that need gods sitting on their shoulder to guide them).
