No, God does not exist for me.
Yes, God can exist for you.

People can create any God they want. I choose not to.

If you can ask the question, the answer is already yes. Existence takes many forms. If nothing else, God exists in incredibly powerful idea that has had very significant influence on humans and human cultures worldwide for hundreds of years. I'm not one to deny the reality and power of ideas.

Yes but not in the way that we would prefer. Therefore I'm not sure how to answer your poll. I'm very sorry about that.

God reached out to people in a way...in the way that people discovered God in my opinion. I don't think God, the invisible, the intangible, the omnipresent, reached to us in the way that is often described...like with arm or with an actual interference in nature. Our discovery of God is God reaching out to us I think. Christian NT writers say that God is 'Spirit' which in their time I think is like saying God is contemplative or consciousness or brahman...something like that... Its something which needs not to be created.

Things come from somewhere. They come from the past or from the big bang or from something. God doesn't. A lot of people think God is invented, because God is so hard to detect. You have to approach in the right way. Its like seeing through trees.

I am not suggesting God is merely an idea. That is not what I think. I think we do have an idea about God.

I liked the way you put all of that. It speaks to how I've been sussing that out. It is that higher Mind that is within us, always trying to get our attention. And when we do, it's right there, as it has been all along. Whatever "that" is, is real. It is experienced as beyond the ordinary mind, with far more depth and awareness, to the point of Infinity.

It's clear that a god that wants everyone to believe in him does not exist, else there would be no atheists. A god would be perfectly capable of making his existence obvious. So if a god exists, then he's purposely hiding himself, which begs the question--why would he want a relationship with people, hide himself, and then get mad at people who don't believe in him?

I suppose one could say gods DO exist in the imaginations of people. But generally I think when people ask if God/gods exist, they are asking if he exists outside of human minds.

I could worship whatever, like the universe, or be an animist and worship nature. The object of my worship would be external to my mind. I've always believed people could define God into or out of existence.

Welcome Diamondgirl. Why don't you post something bout yourself in the intro thread?

A god could exist, certainly, should one choose to create him/her/it. After all, in our usual state of consciousness we create a whole world with all sorts of things in it. One more shoud be no trouble.
We're dreaming the world, as we'd be dreaming a god.

Objectively
, there is no god.

See above. The world itself exists only in our imagination. Close your eyes and the whole wave function collapses. ;)

The whole point of believing in a God is not needing any proof really. Is that your only reason or do you have others?

How to you force yourself to believe something without any evidence that it actually exists? If I told you that invisible magical pixies exist and will grant you any wish your heart desires, just as long as you sincerely believe in them without any evidence, would you be able to shut down your logic and reason and just make yourself believe that they're real?

Sorry, but my brain requires verifiable evidence for fantastical claims, so I don't see the point in believing ANYTHING without evidence. Sadly, there are far too many people who will accept any ridiculous claim on face value, which is why we have people who believe that the Earth is flat, that vaccines cause autism, and that climate change and CORONA-19 are just made up hoaxes.

I struggle with this always. I have no answer. I believe. It is enough for me. I just know enough, not to use my belief as an answer to questions of the physical world.
