EVOLUTION, what a lie.

look evolution speaks about changes that are out of this world. ok say you mentioned the environment and i'll say global warming. were are ok up to here right. you are farmiliar with the ice age, so what difference did those people have from us. nothing, they addapted to the environment by keeping warm, defiying the environment. so today if it gets hot we can just as easily go against it and turn our air conditions on. this is easy there is no problem to this, but changing your insides (guts) to fit the wet environment (the oceans) now thats impossible. do you sort of see the difference that evolution has come up when it comes to adaptation. it is not being realisitc, so that more people are left to wonder like it is something beyound our capability.

The skeletal structure of neanderthals was significanly different from the structure of the modern man. And our brain capacity and genetics are also different from Cro Magnon.

...

And yet we descended from homo sapiens and possibly neanderthals, right? You've admitted it.

lwell i do not worry about it. thats a releive for me.

I think you're getting your English mixed up. The word "relieve" doesn't fit in that context, and "releife" isn't a word.

Do you mean "relief"?

If so... what do you mean? :sarcastic

O I am not offended, I am curious how you are going to rephrase, so you can post a new one if you wish.
If you do want to alter, the "Edit"button will do.
It's underneath your startpost on the right side.

then what, i can't edit the tittle.

Hi esalam

please tell us what you think about evolution and natural selection and why you cannot be a muslim if you accept this.

this thread is a continuation from another one (russia will be a muslim country), we are getting off the topic there so tada. who wants to go first?

i hope we all learn something (evolution is not real, what a releife :beach:).

God is the living mind in which all exists. God is today as he was yesterday and will be into all eternity, He is the only constant in that he is constanty growing or evolving, Only a mind that has ceased to live, can cease to evolve.

The Cosmos is the mind that is God as seen throughout all time. Looking back through time at the light that has taken billions of years to reach our position in space-time, we see the height that the mind that is God had attained to in that point in time.

are you somehow offended by using the word "lie", would you like me to change it? please say so.

Nope, not offended at all. Some might prefer a softer phrasing such as Evolution is Incorrect but it means the same thing.

I'm more interested in why you think Islam and Evolution can't coexist. I know Muslims who are fine with it so I think it may more of a Fundamentalist thing than an Islamic thing, same as it is with Christianity.

There goes my notion that it's just an American thing so :)
It is not just an U.S. thing. You will probably find a few people in just about every country who are scientifically ignorant. But you are right that concentrations of such ignorant people are extremely high in countries with poor scientific education such as the United States and Turkey.

I've always thought disbelief in evolution as an American thing , not as a religious thing.

Haha, wow. This statement makes no sense. OF COURSE it's a religious thing! The ONLY reason people object to evolution is because it conflicts with their literal interpretation of creation myths. Fun Fact: Not all fundamentalists are Americans, and not all Americans are fundamentalists. Shocking!

I thought alcoholism was an Irish thing, not a substance abuse thing. ;)

Evolution has an unsurmountable mountain of evidence to support it and it actually makes sense, two things which cannot be said for Islam. So the rational, honest mind is left with no choice but to reject Islam and accept evolution.

i'll just get some of the posts from there and put them here, i hope they are not copyright protected.

i guess i don't know how to do that, o well.

Maybe evolution hasn't caught up with everyone yet.

It is purely a "religious thingy", Stephenw. I have never heard of anyone not believing in evolution for any other reason.

*giggle* Perhaps it is just their thinking that needs to evolve a tad.

That begs the question, "Are fundamentalists psychological throw-backs?"

Evolution isn't a lie - it's a scientfic theory. It has millions of discrete pieces of evidence all leading to the same conclusions. Unlike religion, which has no evidence, other than primitive musings of ancients who spent too much time in the sun.

Which is more likely a lie? If you can't figure it out, then there's no point in trying to educate you.

Are you implying that the religious teachings are a lie?

I guess 'lie' isn't the right word, since you can't really lie without knowing the truth first. Additionally, things like 'it's bad to kill people' aren't lies, so if you classify those types of things as 'religious teachings', then those aren't lies. But, most things in religious texts which attempt to explain creation, life, or physical phenomenon, are wrong - things which science is made for, and does well. So, if someone, who is religious, is specifically talking about evolution being a lie, and is determining this from their religious teachings, then yes, their religion can certainly be construed as lying in that circumstance.

This thread does not disappoint. Give up and face the facts. You have no idea what evolution really is, and you're too blinded by your slavery to even admit that.

Well, I'll certainly sleep more soundly tonight knowing that our Muslim brethren find evolution unbelievable.

Consider the corollary:
If Muslims find something with as clear and commosense a mechanism as evolution to be unbelievable, how much more inconceivable must something as counterintuitive as Relativity theory be?
If Muslims don't believe in Relativity, they obviously cannot accept atomic fission.
If they dismiss atomic fission as impossible, what are the chances that a devout country like Iran would be wasting its time trying to develop atomic power or weapons?

Ergo: The Muslim atomic threat does not exist. We can all breathe easy.

QED.

Sadly im sure they pay others to make their weapons of western death.

I always wonder how Dubai is growing asd a country because if muslims do not believe in evolution and its processes, those big buildings and cranes should be falling down. OH wait, all the engineers there are foreign.

I wonder if Eselam will provide some specific examples of problems with evolution?

well you cannot be a muslim if you beleive in evolution.
Wrong.
Flat out wrong.
I know several Muslims who believe in evolution.

*waits for the inevitable "no true Scotsman" to rear its ugly head*

I wonder if Eselam will provide some specific examples of problems with evolution?
I seriously doubt Eselam knows enough about evolution to do anything more than copy/paste from his favourite website.

The skeletal structure of neanderthals was significanly different from the structure of the modern man.

did you also know that my skeletal structure is different to a dwarf. by time they do change but not from a crouching position walking an all 4's to standing up and walking on 2 legs.

as for the neanderthal, i'll just quote what prominent authority has said

"Detailed comparisons of Neanderthal skeletal remains with those of modern humans have shown that there is nothing in Neanderthal anatomy that conclusively indicates locomotor, manipulative or linguistic abilities inferior to those of modern man."

And our brain capacity and genetics are also different from Cro Magnon.

well yes there are differences once in a while, look what we have acheived now and look back at what they had acheived, our daily life constantly requires us to use our brain about everything, hard things, unsolvable things. the Cro Magnon didn't have to figure out how to raise a 100 story building nor how to convert corn into energy. everyone should expect a change there or a difference. thats not some big surprise.

And yet we descended from homo sapiens and possibly neanderthals, right? You've admitted it.

were have i admited it? in which of my previous posts have i mentioned the Neanderthals. i was just using the ice age as an example. and how do you know that Neanderthals lived during the ice age, did some evolutionists scetch up an environment just because they found a pigs tooth.

are you farmiliar with Henry Fairfield Osborne.

I think you're getting your English mixed up.The word "relieve" doesn't fit in that context, and "releife" isn't a word.

go ask Bouncing Ball about "releive" he came up with it, so i just copied him. as for the other word i forgot how to spell it and just thought that Bouncing Ball was right. i guess he wasn't.

Do you mean "relief"?

yes.:D

If so... what do you mean? :sarcastic

i'll use it in a sentence: thank god i do not beleive in evolution, what a relief. is that ok?
