As a moderate democrat, I have been invited by some conservatives to just leave the country.

Frankly, I'm considering it. As the grandchild of two people born in what is now the republic of Ireland, I am eligible for Irish citizenship. Which means I'm eligible for EU citizenship. I'm going to fill out the paperwork and file for it.

Do I think Ireland or the EU are utopia? No. But what is happening in the US is appalling to me. To be clear, it is Trumpism that appalls me.

How about you? Have you considered bailing on this **** show?

I've considered it but I'm not going to do it. I love the USA, it's a great place and I consider myself to be blessed by God above most of the Earth to have been born here. I'll definitely do extended visits (5 years and such) to other places, but I won't expat.

Heck yeah. In the game of life, I did NOT hit a triple--I was born on second base. And a non-trivial part of that being born in the USA. Which is amazing in many ways.

I am English, i moved to france 6 years ago. Greatest thing I've ever done for several reasons. Hubby and i had sold our business allowing is to effectively retire early. I didn't like the way the UK was going politically, we wanted a more relaxed way of life and our children to grow up away from the oppressive atmosphere developing in England. As a bonus it moves me closer to one of my hobbies. We moved, a year later brexit came along and it was the icing on the cake of our relocation.

Just a note, there is no EU citizenship as such but Irish (southern) Irish citizenship will give you all the rights available to anyone from an EU country.

Brexit has caused an English friend of mine to get herself an Irish passport. You're not the only one with a **** show! I just wish I had some Irish ancestors. Or else the brexiteers move to the 1950s...

I hate being treated so badly on this forum by Remainers. Why is RF so full of Remainers? I feel as though I'm being made out to be a terrible person with all the crap that's said on here about us. Why is RF so full of Democrats and Remainers for goodness sake. We won the vote, please just leave us alone.

Nope. This is the country of my birth for better or worse. However I would love dual citizenship as Canada is essentially a second home for my heart.

I love you Canucks!

I observe that the biggest problem for many is paying
too much attention to what news media present to us.
It's not reality...just carefully culled snippets of the most
outrageous goings on. That's what keeps eyeballs glued
to the boob tub, & advertising revenue flowing in.

The biggest problem I heard of today is from a friend
who runs parking at engine shows. Methods for handling
the occasional litterbug....sometimes he make's them
pay a fine, or be refused attendance at the next show.
I wouldn't move to Ireland or Australistan over such a
donnybrook. Let's all choose healthy perspectives.
