Inviting your opinions on Leviticus 18:22....

The words speak for themselves because they're easy enough for a child to understand. :) Oh I know that many people don't like those words so they try to claim they say the opposite of what they say. :D But that doesn't fool people who can read any more than it fools God. ;)

There were over 600 laws in the Mosaic Law, not just the Ten Words.

If this is the case why do you bring up only one of the Mosaic laws listed in Leviticus? Why not for example bring up the woeful lack of protesting out side Red Lobster? Why is the bible verse mentioned in the OP seemingly the ONLY Mosaic law that can be quoted verbatim by christians?

Why is it often insisted that 'cultural and historical context' is required when dealing with the verses from the book of Exodus brought up by Father Heathen but the bible is to be strictly interpreted for the verse from the OP?

Just admit that you find homosexual conduct icky, or repugnant, or just not for you. Recognizing someone else's right to conduct themselves as they see fit without interference from you and your ilk will not prevent you from gloating righteously as they burn in a pit forever and ever.

To understand 18:22 you have to look at the entire chapter.

From the Blue Letter Bible:

So if adultery is just as bad as all the others, why not focus on it since it is what happens more often than all the others combined? Why the persecution of Gays while giving the much larger group of sinners a free pass?

Same reason you chose to reply. Because she chose to. She chose to ask a question as to what other members felt about this specific verse in the bible.

Kinda cool to have freedom of choice huh? Or would you rather live somewhere that didn’t allow that?

Why would one choose to do that? Do we live in a Theocracy? Are we all under the precepts and statutes of a Theological concept? The plain and simple answer to those questions are “NO”. You have the freedom to choose what you want to do for the moment. I nor the author of the OP are your judge nor do we judge you or anyone else for that matter. If one chooses to eat such nasty abominations then hey, I won’t stand in their way.

Personally, it’s a nasty and abominable act to commit and is a sin unto death as my Father commands but hey, whatever floats your boat. We don’t live in the land that Yah has given to those that obey his word and we do not have any judges set in place in that theocracy therefore you are free to do with whatever you choose to do with yourself until such a time exist.

Gloating? LOL. You haven’t a clue as to what you think your talking about. I nor the author of the OP would ever even dream of getting in the way of those that burn for the same sex or to commit any of the other abominations that are mentioned in the whole of the Torah. By all means go for it. Have your fill. Do as you see fit for as long as you are allowed. Enjoy yourselves.

For those who didn’t know there must be things in place for the Torah to be upheld. One is that those that are chosen must be in the land given unto them by Yah at the time he appoints and not of the time man chooses as well as those things that Ezra was told…………

In the sense that you and others create topic after topic drawing attention to how horrible you feel homosexuality is but rarely if ever do you say anything about adultery, even though the statistics on adultery and divorce are staggering. I would think if you truly cared for the souls of others you would be trying to help those in the most need and if the statistics are correct, it is all the married people cheating on their spouses that need your attention. Instead, you consistantly attack a small group of people, ignoring the larger set. This makes it look like you care more about attacking a group of people you feel are smaller and weaker, unable to fight back and therefore easy prey. Even the law is on your side so you can attack and be a viscious as you want with no worries about retaliation. Attacking adultery would be much harder and there are no longer laws against it to keep people from fighting back.

So are you scared of speaking out against adultery or do you just enjoy attacking gays more?

Hmm. Well, while we COULD be debating about other things, but this is what we're talking about, so yeah. :p I'm not sure, though. Are there any passages in the NT? I don't remember. Also, Jesus did revoke most of the old laws. However, did He say anything about this one?

Guess I didn't get the point across....adultery is in the same category as homosexuality and I do not attend to attack anyone. My original OP was asking for opinions and I have posted some opinions as well.
