Genesis 2

Rogue Theologian
And you still cannot even comprehend how to use the quote feature, let alone learn real history.

History isn't real....just a matter of opinion.
Historians go back and forth with notions and argument like any other discipline.
and I'm being generous with the word 'discipline'.

The first thing they teach historians, is that you cannot recreate history.

Of course that is not what they are doing. They describe most likely what happened.

But what we do not do is let personal bias of apologetics decide which evidence does an does not fit theology to create history.

They also do not let mythology dictate history.

The only people that have problems with historians are those who wish to pervert history to meet their own personal needs because they dont like it.

TOO bad! Your theology doesnt dictate history.

One thing is certain, we know what did not ever happen in many cases, and we know much of mythology is just that, mythology. Not reality.

Hi outhouse, I did quote you correctly. I understand secular and the history of scriptures (which you deny).

Metis pointed out that Firmament in Hebrew refers to a solid dome, do you believe that this is the structure of the Universe? And if so does each planet have it's own firmament?

Also how do you explain hurricanes and volcanic eruptions on other planets?

The scientific consensus, supported by a 2006 statement by 68 national and international science academies, is that it is evidence-based fact derived from observations and experiments in multiple scientific disciplines that the universe has existed for around 13.8 billion years and that the Earth was formed about 4.5 billion years ago, with life first appearing at least 2.5 billion years ago

What apart of 68 nations don't you understand. Many of those are Christian nations and have nothing to do with secular thinking at all.

Outhouse,I have read wikipedia articles and they do not impress me as being factual any more than that serpent in Gen.3.
I, also, have seen the article you repeatedly post concerning those "68 nations" and neither do they they nullify the Scripture Account.

Yes because believing in talking snakes makes much more sense then the WORLDS most intelligent minds from 68 different countries that all agree 100% with each other.

Embarrassing

I sure you meant my logic....rather than 'theology'....

I don't mind history...really.
But in no manner can it take away belief in ....God.

What those like-minded persons are agreeing upon is false man-made opinions/conclusions of a subject that has not been proven by anything, but their own "theories."

Nonsense. Severe ignorance on your part.

Like minded :biglaugh: only you could call 68 different nations most brilliant minds, "like minded"

Only if you mean "like" as in they are all highly educated and reasonable.

On subjects that are FACT.

Full Definition of SECULAR

1
a : of or relating to the worldly or temporal <secular concerns>
b : not overtly or specifically religious <secular music>
c : not ecclesiastical or clerical <secular courts> <secular landowners>

2 : not bound by monastic vows or rules; specifically : of, relating to, or forming clergy not belonging to a religious order or congregation <a secular priest>

The concensus is based upon NOT Religious reasoning, but the ideas/theories produced in the imagination of those "secular" minded persons. Even though the countries may espouse to be "Christian".

The Scriptures are filled with beliefs which are contrary to the Will of the Father---GOD.(by like-minded men.)

Did once consider the priesthood.....but now have no congregation.
So off I go to consider the word 'priest' a bit more carefully.

In the meantime....are we moving to a more 'decisive' stance on Genesis?

Only a few days ago a science program dealt the creation story with ET as the culprit of Man's diversion from the rest of the animal kingdom.

But God would be an ET...would He not?

Im sorry but that was not a real science program.

I see you posted no source or name.

It is known mythology.

No one with any crediility what so ever has posted anything that contradicts known mythology.

However, there are many Believers who contradict the "claimed"---"There is no GOD";and the Scriptures say those who do such are "fools". Ps.14, ""The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God".

This thread is about Gen.2 and what an atheist humanist has claimed verses the theist pov.
The Wikipedia nor the opinions of a group of persons from many nations doesn't alter the facts presented in the Scriptures.
