One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest gave me nightmares. I was never afraid of monsters of my bed, but I was afraid of the awful things people do to each other.
The book was better. The book is always better. :yes:One Flew over the Cuckoo nest's was a decent book too.
Ruth Gordon is great in the role too. It was Ruth Gordon, right? If you like 'cult' classics, Harold and Maude is a hilarious dark comedy. I've seen it maybe 3 or 4 times.

Overall, for sure. But alas, movies better than books is very much the exception to the rule.
Brokeback Mountain as a film was better than the book. It was true to the plot and script, but Ang Lee interpreted it far better than I could have ever imagined when I read it. Being that it was merely a short story, most of the time film adaptations from short stories are dismal. But Lee was brilliant in his direction.
