We shouldn't let Israel's apologists define who
is what. Hamas does more than wage war, so
treating it solely as "terrorists" is bogus.
Israel also commits terrorism & war crimes using
IDF, so it shouldn't be sanitized by simply labeling
it as "military".
If someone is attacking Israeli merchant ships,
this is at least as "military" as IDF attacking
Palestinian civilians. The ships have strategic
military value.

But for the sake of discussion, what would you propose Israel do? If we are to treat Hamas (and sadly many Palestinians), with respect, we must believe what they tell us their intentions are towards Israel, and Hamas's stated intention is the worldwide genocide of all Jews. Do you think they don't mean it?

Well we're agreed on the awfulness. However, if Hamas laid down their arms, Israel would NOT eradicate Gazans, and if Israelis laid down their arms, Hamas WOULD eradicate Israelis. So a few deranged Israelis is not the same as Hamas.

As for negotiations... it's been tried countless times for 70 years and Muslims have NEVER accepted any terms. Why do you think they will this time?

Get rid of their far right government and awful prime minister. For starters, then they might have a chance of ending the cycle of violence with compromise and negotiation. As Orbit mentioned.
To deal with Hamas specifically right now? Sent assassins contract killers and special forces, put a high bounty on Hamas leadership heads. It might take a long time. Better than genocide.

I don't doubt Hamas's commitment to it's stated aims. As for those who took part in the attack on Israel, hunt them down by all means, they need to be put behind bars or under the top soil, preferably the former.
