"High School Students Crowned America's First Lesbian Homecoming Couple"

No, it doesn't. A transgendered person is a person. A dog or a cat is not.
Right, because a person who was born a man; had a sex change, and was then crowned in accordance with the gender they were born with despite the fact they're now a womenish is completely normal.

Yes, it is too much to ask. The Homecoming King and Queen represent the whole school, not just the straight students.
Right: King = Male
Queen = Female
If a gay guy want to be king, then go for it. If a gay female want to be queen, then follow suit princess.

Do you get it now?

Edit: and I think it's worth remembering that it's a virtual certainty that most of the people who voted for this couple were straight.
Obviously.

This is not a "straight" world. It's a diverse world made up of all sorts of points of view - straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender... your perspective is not the only legitimate one, and your voice is no more important than the voice of a gay or lesbian person.
I never said straight world, I said straight man's point of view.
But let me clear that up for you: My point of view.
BTW - this "straight man's point of view" has no problem at all with gay people being gay without - horror of horrors! - not hiding the fact that they're gay. While we may share a sexual orientation, don't think for one second that this gives you any right to speak for all of us, especially me.
I don't have a problem with gay people, I have a problem with the way straight people pander to their every demand.

You'll never see a straight pride parade because having pride in yourself should be a given. The more flamboyant a person is, the less likely I'm to believe they're happy at all. The majority of straight people don't care, either.

Okay, well if we're going to consider bringing freaks into the conversation, why stop there? How bout a dog, or a cat...that makes perfect sense, right?

Is it so much to ask that straight people have one thing that's all to themselves?
Surely this will not crush the collective spirit of the universal fairy.

Must the gay insist upon inserting their lifestyle into every orifice of the straight man's point of view? I mean is it really that gdamn important to impose their fabulous will on everything and everyone? :shrug:

If it upsets you that much, why don't you just walk away?

Yeah it says you can't discriminate against gays but you can discriminate against every boy in the school!:rolleyes: That is very strong sexual discrimination.

Maybe next year they'll vote a male/gay couple Queen and King.

Don't WORRY. it'll all even out.
The boyz will get their reign.

Do you get it now?

Kids know how to have fun much better than adults.
They vote in who THEY WANT, for fun.
Did I mention that the event is... a fun thing?

Such a refreshing change from the usual...

Queen = Most popular cheerleader
King = Football team quarterback

:rolleyes:

Get it now?

Right, because a person who was born a man; had a sex change, and was then crowned in accordance with the gender they were born with despite the fact they're now a womenish is completely normal.
For those specific people, it's more normal than the alternative, yes.

Right: King = Male
Queen = Female

Seeing how the title of "Homecoming King/Queen" isn't hereditary and carries no authority, I think we're using a pretty loose definition of "king" and "queen" to begin with. I see no reason not to overlook just one more instance where they don't match up with the "official" definition of the terms involed.

And it's a made-up, artificial thing anyhow. The people running it can change the rules however they want.

I never said straight world, I said straight man's point of view.

Well, at least you're not trying to talk for all of us now.

I don't have a problem with gay people, I have a problem with the way straight people pander to their every demand.
You don't have a problem with gay people? I don't believe you.

And acknowledging basic equality is not "pandering".

You'll never see a straight pride parade because having pride in yourself should be a given. The more flamboyant a person is, the less likely I'm to believe they're happy at all. The majority of straight people don't care, either.
You'll never see a straight pride parade because society has never tried to make straight people ashamed of themselves for being straight. Pride parades are about overcoming something... something that straight people have never had to deal with.

Because it's the thread's topic.

Right, and this thread topic clearly upsets you. Your posts make this quite apparent. In another thread, you said someone should just walk away if it upsets them. I'm just curious why you don't follow your own advice?

The poor nerds!

They're always discriminated against!

And the emo chicks!

And the overweight kids!

Why don't THEY ever get to be King and Queen?!

And the monkeys!

No, you'll never see a straight pride parade because gay people wouldn't allow it. Deny it all you want, but it won't make it any less true.
Pride parades are about overcoming something... something that straight people have never had to deal with.

I have to deal with it every time I speak my mind concerning homosexuality.
I'm made to feel ashamed of my opinion because the majority of people who chime in are idiots who won't even try to understand what I've said. It's quite humorous, actually.
