Hmmm, I've been swapping between them all day trying to decide which is best. I generally prefer the RF colours (except the ones i don't see) while the default is has no hidden colour but is so in your face
.

Changing is the same for both styles.

If i remember correctly it was difficult to change from default to RF on yesterday's software

I had no option down the bottom after I change but did in preferences

I've just found out if I insert a smilie the cursor won't move past it. The only way to put one in the middle of text is to go back and insert them when you're finished typing.

This post is my first since logging into the new forum a couple minutes ago. It definitely looks more modern with large windows and stone floors and walls. I have been in the old format so long that I felt that to be more like a cozy cabin in comparison.

I’m sure that I will adjust, given time.;)

Well, I’m glad you still have the “like” rating; where’s the “funny”, “informative”, and “creative” ratings?
You have to mouse over the like button for other alternatives, though there are different options than in the previous iteration.

The thing that upsets me the most is that recent threads have been changed to recent posts in home page, so I don't know what to do if I want to see the most recent threads created. Another, much smaller thing, is the section which you can self-label your religion is gone now. I wish there was just a way to fix the original forums so they'd work properly, this honestly feels like a forums downgrade if anything.
The previous version was severely outdated by about ten years, rendering it irreparable. Nonetheless, we have recently commenced work on the new version that will endeavor to reinstate the much-admired features to the fullest extent possible and incorporate new ones that align with the current era and streamline the user experience.

I see this kind of thing happen to a lot of websites. It appears to be favoring style over functionality.

It's less usable than the old style. Not as much information is visible at a time. It requires us users to have to scroll more, and as a general rule of UX / UI design, the more you have to scroll to get stuff done, the less user friendly the website (or app.)
At present, we are in the process of rebuilding all the old features and styles from scratch, as the upgrade remains incomplete. We are diligently working on restoring the missing options while simultaneously enhancing the existing ones to the best of our abilities.

Here are three things I'm having difficulty with. (Apologies if others have already mentioned these and I missed explanations!)

1. We no longer seem to have our religion included in the profile that shows up with our postings. I kind of liked being able to see all the different religions (as well as non-religion) that people have. It gave some perspective to what they were saying in their posts.

2. I've seen a few mentions of this already: That our previously earned reputation points have mostly been trimmed down somehow. I know for certain that I had nearly twice as many positive reactions as there were messages of mine recorded. It's not a big deal -- I was just wondering how those reputation points were trimmed down. Were the points received before for "friendly," "informative," "useful," etc. the ones that got deleted, leaving only the "like" points?

3. When looking through the posts in a thread, I can't tell which page I'm currently on. The pagination at the bottom doesn't seem to highlight the current page that one is reading. It would be nice to know what page I'm on, so I could guess how long it might take to get to the end of the entire thread.

I just want to say for the record that these aren't complaints. I'll gratefully go along with whatever we get here at Religious Forums. RF is still a way better place than some other places on the Interwebs. Thank you for that, mods and members both!

I do think it's dumb that even on PC that on a religious forum people's religion doesn't just show up.
This has already been identified, given the theme of the forum, as problematic. I'm confident the site owners are working on a resolution as I type this.

I haven't figured out how to do anything other than like. How do we do the emojis? I've wanted to laugh a couple times already, just haven't figured it out.

Ohp! Figured it out. Nevermind. :p

As much as I dislike all the blue combined with orange in the default style, I've opted to use that for now because it's easier on the eyes when looking at quoted posts and the hyperlinks are highlighted in blue (they are the default color in the RF style and you can't tell they're hyperlinks unless you mouse over them).
