How Dumb Cops Create Danger

This cop gets angry at a small woman for spitting
at him. She was arrested for a bogus charge (flicking
a ciggie ash at a cop car). He grabs her by the neck
with both hands, throws her on the pavement face
down, & knocks her unconscious.
He quits the force, but isn't prosecuted for this very
dangerous violent assault. He should be in prison
for years.

Federal Marshalls can't even read an address.
So they regularly raid the wrong homes.
Why would this continue?
They have more than qualified immunity given
to state & local cops....being federal, they have
unqualified immunity. They cannot ever be sued.
And the only the fed investigates itself. So they're
quite charitable to themselves.

This cop parked his cruiser unlocked with the engine running.
Later a guy hops in & drives away. He appears to pose no
imminent danger to anyone. Cop shoots into vehicle, killing
the thief. The cop lied (per video), claiming imminent danger
to him. The police department is investigating.

Shooting someone merely for fleeing should be vigorously
prosecuted. This is new. We'll see what happens.

Too many violent SWAT teams break into homes without
proper notification, & then mishandle innocent people.
In this case, a cop drops a 1 year old baby face down
onto the pavement. "To protect & serve"...what a joke, eh.

Many cops receive inadequate training in use
of guns. Accidental discharge is common.
There is no excuse for leaving one's finger on
the trigger & pointing a gun in an unsafe direction.
Yet they do it regularly.
In this case, a cop shot a 12 year old boy by
accident. The boy posed no threat. Even these
allegedly "highly trained" SWAT cops are woefully
careless, & unskilled in basic gun safety.

Cops can't even be bothered to verify they
are at the correct address before they attack.

This is an outrageous example of how the combination
of stupidity, poor training, & thuggish behavior of cops
poses great danger to civilians. Ya just never know when
one of these violent criminals in blue will attack you.
(NPR has been going on recently about how cops pose
a danger only to blacks. This guy is white...or at least
what's left of his skin is. He'll never fully recover from
the severe burns.)

Man is fueling up his bike. He committed no crime.
Cops blind side him, tackle him, & taze him.
This ignites the gasoline causing a a conflagration
that gravely injures the civilian, & also hurts several
cops.
Why do this? There was an incident with some
bikers 9 miles away. This guy wasn't there.

There must be some requirement that cops
be stupid & uneducated.
Caught in the act of holding a hose, & watering
his neighbor's flowers....cops want proof that
he's watering their flowers.

These cops regularly break into the wrong house
to evict residents. They find their regular careless
mistakes rather humorous.
Why do so many cops fail to read the address
before breaking into homes? You can hear the
cops' cluelessness, ineptitude, & utter disregard
for the homeowner's concerns. They fail to realize
that the only reason they didn't put all her belongings
on the street, & remove her pets was her Ring door
bell...she saw them drilling her lock, & objected.
It's actually funny...seems like Reno 911.

Word to the wise....
If every you have a court order to upend someone's
life, read the address before committing a heinous
crime against an innocent person.

Cops arrest a woman.
Cops put her in a cop car that's sitting on train tracks.
Cops hear a train coming.
Cops walk/run away, leaving her in the car.
Cops watch the train hit the car.
She survives, but is badly injured.

Is there any limit to how stupid cops can be?
When cops have the power of life & death over
civilians, shouldn't there be minimum requirements
for intelligence & training.
Oh, the cop who parked her on the tracks is on
paid administrative leave.
Woman seriously injured after Colorado cops leave her handcuffed in car parked on train tracks

Of course, the victim intends to file suit against the cops.
May she win hundreds of millions because of these
deadly incompetent thugs.
Legal analysis of this event....

Cop shoots man thru his closed front door.
Body cameras switched off.
The cop investigating is coaching the shooter
how to avoid getting into trouble. The corruption
is endemic.

Of course, the taxpayers foot a 6 figure bill for this brutal treatment.

In this video, the cops are unaware of the law they're
supposed to enforce. Even after being informed of
his error by a superior, one very experienced cop
still doesn't understand.
So your point for all these posts is that we should have the police training be more like military training? I tend to agree.

So, what are you suggesting?
Oh, you're new here.
I've made very specific recommendations.
Some that I remember....
- Training should be at least 4 years, not 3 months.
- Education should broad, including all relevant
knowledge & skills, eg, civil rights, laws at all levels,
de-escalation tools, human diversity, etc, etc.
- Continuing education & training should be
rigorous & extensive....perhaps 10 % of the job.
- Greatly limit qualified immunity to events where
they behaved within the bounds of the reasonable.
- Eliminate absolute immunity afforded to feds.
- Hire fewer cops, but augment them with other
pros, eg, social workers.
- Stringent vetting of new & existing cops, eg,
weed out the stupid, the bullies, the criminals,
& the immature.
And training correctly doesn't make them at war with law-abiding citizens.
So it should be, but not what it is.

All that is going to require more money.

All that is going to require more money.
Yes, it will.
But it's better value than the many things
government wastes it on, eg, wrongful wars.
But the added cost would be offset by fewer
payouts to victims. And there's the advantage
of having fewer victims. Their plight matters.

Let's make policing a respected profession, not
something that strikes fear in innocent people.

Maybe cut some unneeded welfare funds and use them for law enforcement.

5 cops break Randy Cox's neck during transport.
They paralyzed him from the neck down.
Instead of calling an ambulance, they roughly pull
him out by his feet, & put him in a cell. No medical
attention...no ambulance...no trip to the hospital.
5 cops now charged for misdemeanors....that's all.
They'll get their slap on the wrist.
The taxpayers will be the one's punished.
Oh, well....at least we now have a rainbow coalition
of diversity in cops who brutalize civilians.
