How Enlighten Was Buddha

Again, back up your statements.

Or else Epic Trolldom.

Prove to me that there is attainment, prove that Buddhahood is real, prove that there are higher states of existence. Just like when theist make a claim, the burden of proof is on you not me. I am not the one making the positive claim here.

You people are such hypocrites, other people's messiahs are open for criticism. Just as long as they are not Buddha.

What proof can you offer that people did not have visions and are crazy, and that Buddha was schizo? Remember, you're making the claim so the burden of proof is on you.

Hallucinating dancing girls while sitting under a tree after one has attempted to starve oneself is not indicative of sanity. It sound's like just a mere hallucination.

No, you made the claim there isn't. The burden of proof is on the accuser.

Besides, I'm not Buddhist. I have no stake in Buddhism.

Prove it. The burden of proof...

By now you should know the rest of that statement.

Not under US law. You're playing games.

This isn't a court of law. In a debate it is the person who makes the positive assertion who has the burden of proof. Shifting the burden of proof to the person who denies or questions the positive assertion is called Argumentum ad Ignorantiam. Which you seem to be an expert in.

Look up above your post: the burden of proof is yours.

Game, set, match.

You opened the thread http://www.religiousforums.com/forum/2931729-post1.html and have failed to back up your statements.

Philosophic burden of proof - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yes I denied and questioned the positive assertion that the Buddha was an Enlightened Being based on his negative statements about women. The burden falls on you people who believe in was enlightened to prove to me that he in fact was.

Enlightenment =/= views of women.

I think enough people have explained to you who and what Buddha was and was not, and what Enlightenment is and is not. You haven't gotten it, or you're refusing to get it. Now you have to dig your heels in; can't back out; no way out.

No. i am just not buying their rationalization. I understand it is normal for people to want to rationalize when their precious little belief systems are being attacked but there has to be a point where you have to realize that you have no real proof of your assertions and all you are doing is rationalizing

So what gives you the right to attack anyone's belief system, then expect them to agree with you?

You just don't get it, which is expected.

I am the critic. The burden of proof is on those whose beliefs I am questioning.

I don't think you get it. Please some proof. You have made a medical diagnoses.

Ok. I believe that Gautama due to his extremely sheltered life and his subsequent exposure to the painful fact of existence was psychologically traumatize and choose to deal with this trauma with repression and denial. He probably developed a form of schizophrenia due to this trauma. He probably develop a hatred for women due to the fact that it is women who bring people into this world of suffering.
Proof of his schizophrenia. Things like:

-Comorbid conditions
-Explanation of why the Late onset.
-Proof of Impairment in social cognition.
- Family history of schizophrenia.

Schizophrenia is a medical term with an exact meaning. Please back up your comments.
