Well what about the LGBs who dislike being associated with the TIs, etc.?
This is not a small group as they draw a line between Sexuality and Identity politics.
Sub-DIR?

Feminism, capitalism, socialism, communism, liberalism, libertarianism. conservatism, etc. are not unified movements, either.I just wanted to make clear that there is no unified LGBT+ movement and you'd have to take this into account when starting such a Forum.
I'm chiming in with an allied "Yea" for the sub-form. There are only 22 yesses so far. How large of a consensus do you need? What we're looking for here is how many people would use the subforum. Why would we need to ask how many people won't use the subforum if we want to know how many people will use it?

Ok, I'll do your homework for you.
Here's a thread in the General Debates Forum for people to debate whether or not there should be an LGBT Only subforum: LGBTI DIR request.
Now, as repeatedly stated in this thread:
This thread, on the other hand, is not for debating whether or not there should be an LGBT Only subforum. This thread is to help us find out how many people want such a subforum.
Now, if you think about it, I'm sure you'll see that there's no point in asking how many people don't want an LGBT Only subforum in a thread whose purpose is to ask how many people do want an LGBT subforum.
Interesting.
But it begs the question:
Who asked you?
Again, I'll slow it down for you......why make it a poll if there's only ONE answer to choose from?
The purpose of this poll is to get an idea of how many people are for such a subforum -- not how many people are against it. That's because we don't expect people who are against it to actually be forced to use it. Thus there is only one way to vote, and that is to vote to show you would like such a subforum.
The OP explains this.
He had to put yes twice because there's a standard minimum of two options for a poll.
You're still missing the point of this thread. It's still not a poll.
Doesn't matter, does it? Maybe there should have been a disclaimer that read "straight, non-confused folks need not reply".
It's still not a poll.
No I'm not.

If you're in a room full of people and you need to know how many of them want the fish for dinner do you need to know how many don't want the fish as well in order to know how many fish dinners you need? No. You just need a basic number of "yeas", you don't care about the "nays", now do you? When figuring out how many fish dinners to make do you need to know Sally doesn't like fish? Or that Stan is vegan? No. You just need the dang number to make. That's all the poll is trying to get an idea of. The number who would use the subforum were it available. That is the point. And obviously you didn't get it.No I'm not.

That's actually ridiculous. By having the poll option you have a very easy and concise way of getting an actual verifiable number. If you just ask on a thread you have to wade through pages of replies to figure out who has said what and make up lists on your own. Plus there is the fact that people's written replies can be interpreted different ways if they aren't direct in what they say. The logical choice would be to use the poll option. Perhaps logic escapes you, but that truly is the most logical way to get the results he's looking for. That's a ridiculous comparison. If you want to know how many "yes's"......then create a thread asking for that. Don't make a "poll" with only one choice. Just make a thread. Pretty simple, if you ask any educated person.
