How Should I Keep the Sabbath?

Please read the bottom of my last post. I just added it as an example.

In all reality,, the reason you believe in all sorts of strange Gods is because you and ancestors quit acknowledging God as the Creator.... Gee Whiz,, if you would read the Bible,, you would see what happens to people who take up pagan practices,,,But,,, you think the Bible is just an option.....That's sad.

I have told you that Sunday Observance will one day be enforced. It is the Mark of the Beast. But,, I don't think you care. It seems as if you would rather justify the Mark of the Beast even though the Bible tells us of it's eternal consequences. So,, what more can I do... If you have questions,, i will be around fro a while.

It's not that I don't care. I had a respectful debate with a JW who called all Catholics marks of Satan. (He was pointing to their practices rather than them as humans; but they are their practices, so).

I found after long discussion why they don't have any traditions. It's interesting. He said since it's pagan, it shouldn't be in their worship. So, I understood that. However, the Sabbath! So no special time with your god.

I just dont understand that.

Wow,, I have telling you for 3 days why we are to observe the Sabbath. You must be ignoring me on purpose. Jesus kept the Sabbath. The Sabbath is the Special designated time to spend with God away from the secular world.

Tell me,,, do you make an appointment to see your doctor,, or just show up when you feel the need and demand service?

Jehovah's witnesses are also daughters of the Church of Rome. They too keep Sunday. They also claim that Jesus is here now and been here since 1914. They also think that the Law is void.

I ask a JW,,, if he had repented and is he saved? He assured me that he had repented and was saved.

I then asked him,,,,if the law is void as you claim, why did you repent and what are you saved from?

I then asked about his spouse: If the law is void, why did you go and get married and place yourself under the very law you claim is void?

I have studied the JW doctrine. I know it well.

Oh. and another thing. Who said I believed in gods?

:leafwind:

Pretend Sunday is inforced since it's the Mark of the Beast. What happens when DLS come around and that day misses two hours. Is it still Sunday (the Mark of the Beast) or are those two hours moved to Saturday (and is God's holy day)?

If it is at 12 but the DLS comes and it becomes 10, the earth didn't change. We just labeled it based on the earth's rotation and relation to the sun.

Take off the labels.

Use the seventh day by the rotation of the sun. Forget DLS and leap year. I dont know where you are from. If you're in the states, that would probably be hard to do.

Why are we trying to set another country's and time period's system on ours, I have no clue.

How does god reconcile that?

Carlita,, The Sabbath is a 24 hour period. The Sabbath will end when the sun sets. The sun may set at a different time where you are at,, than where I am at. Doesn't matter, we will still be dealing with a 24 hour Sabbath. So,,, the Sabbath may begin for you at sunset which may be 6:00 pm EST in New York, and begin for me 3 hours later if I lived in California. Still,, a 24 hour time period. God can be in more than one place at a time.

Does that make any sense to you? The day begins in Newyork before it begins in Califonia,,,You do understand that, right?

Okay. Didnt know you were a JW. Different protestants take different positions.

I am relating what you posted about the Sabbath in relation to the days Saturday or Sunday. I liked rosends comment and link about the days. It made me think of how Christians (say JW) reconcile for those two hours that may become a Sunday if DLS happens between 10-12am.

Did you read my example about the medication?

I understand you want to follow the Sabbath on a Saturday. That's fine. My point is what if DLS comes and you lose those two hours to a sunday. How do you reconcile that? Do those two hours become the Mark of the Beast?

I look at nature rather than tradition to judge what is natural and what is not. Wouldn't it be wise to study your own calender system and how god rotates the earth around where you live rather than going off of a system that may not apply to your part of the world (say if yo're in America)?

Do you understand me at least? (De ja vu)

I just got this post after I pressed submit.

Then why go off the Jewish calender rather than looking at the 24 hour period. Why call it Saturday or Sunday, even.

Isn't it just seven days and celebration? Why argue about which day when those labels are not the purpose of your worship?

I mean, is Sunday the 8th day? the 6th? (I actually really didn't think about the times. I was more thinking about your worship)

I am a Seventh-day Adventist. Not a Jw......sigh

Man cannot change when the sun sets or when the sun rises. But,, you seem to think they can. again,,,,,sigh.........

Its the other way around. It seems you are going off of what man is saying. "This is a sunday. This is a saturday" and basing your worship on those labels rather than the seventh day which could either fall on a Saturday or Sunday based on the earth itself.

EDIT

For example, if the seventh day went on into Sunday because of DLS, why is it wrong to worship on that day? Is it the label? Because the earth doesn't change just becuase we mark a day Saturday or sunday. So why should your worship?

lol,,,Culture. Just because I live in America and use the term "Saturday,, or Monday,,or Tuesday,,ect.....doesn't mean I reject the numbered days of the week. I know today is Thursday,,or the 5th day of the week. Why try to confuse people?

We differ. Culture plays a part, of course. I believe nature comes first.

So, if those two hours make Sunday come faster, then basically, I'm worshiping on Saturday which they call Sunday now. But because of the name/culture, a JW (probably) would not worship on that day because of the name rather than seeing that it's still Sunday Saturday even though they changed it to Sunday.

If you think the 7th day could fall on the 1st day,, you are as confused as you can be.

You still somehow,,,seem to think that Man deciding on the time of the day,,somehow has an effect on when the sun sets and when the sun rises.

God is the creator,, and you somehow think man is in control of time. and again,,, Daylight Savings was introduced to save electricity,,it has nothing to do with changing the Date!.

Carlita,,,God counts His days with the setting of the sun. "The evening and the morning were the first day".

Please explain how man could possibly change the setting of the sun with DLS? It's impossible Carlita!!!!!!!

Yet,, you somehow think that Man can control the time of the day....He cant!!!!

If the sun is about to go down,,,and I decide NOPE,, it's only 9:00 oclock in the morning,,do you think the earth will obey me and stop turning so that the Sun remains in the sky another 10 hours,, all because I changed the clock? Pffft. i give up.

Okay. Trying to figure out how to explain this.

1. Man has no influence on the Earth's rotation itself and around the sun. He has no influence on days.
2. There are still days. We can count them by how many times the earth rotates.
3. Regardless the reason, twice a year, we gain or lose two hours of that day. (According to man)
4. If it is between 10-12, it may still be the same day (two hours back) or the next day (two hours forward)

5. The Church worships on a Sunday (which they say is the seventh day) I dont care to debate the history

6. JW say the seventh day is a Saturday (which I dont care to debate its history and relation to scripture)

That is fine. I will not say either of you are wrong.

7. Pretend we gain two hours between 10pm-12am. That would mean that one day was shorted (according to man) but in reality it has not (according to the earth)

8. Yet, you say culture dictates whether or not one day is Saturday and the other is Sunday.

That is fine. Culture influences a lot of things.

9. Say that on Saturday, DLS came between 10-12am. So, that Saturday just became a Sunday (according to man)

10. As a result, even though according to the Earth, its still a saturday, according to culture, JW see it as a Sunday. As a result, they don't practice on Sundays since that day god created is supposed to be the mark of the beast.

11. How does a JW (and anyone who agrees with them) reconcile that part of their Saturday became a Sunday according to culture?

12. Wouldn't it not be feasable to go by the Earth itself and not culture? That is, if we can take time out to study god's creation rather than looking at our calenders (which is convinent; that's not my point)?

I know this is nothing but semantics or knit picking but it raised a good question based on what I read about the days.

Please don't debate the accuracy in history and reasons behind it. I just want to know if you get my point.

AAAH!! My point breifed. Finally.

JW (and those who agree) and RC are going by culture (Jewish,Roman, whatever)

I'm talking about going by the Earth itself.

The culture separates the days and adds the DLS depending on what country you're from.

The Earth does not do that. I know its knit picking for others; but, to me, going by the earth is pure spirituality. If we want to figure out the seventh day without depending on culture and what is Saturday and what is Sunday, observe the Earth: THAT'S your Sabbath. Saturday and Sunday have nothing to do with it.

Again,,, Jehovah's Witnesses are NOT Sabbath Observers. They observe Sunday the 1st day of the week just like the Catholic Church has Mandated.

The Church of Rome is the culprit that decided the date changes at 12:00 Midnight...........God says His days begin and end with the setting of the sun!!!

Daniel 7:25 warns us that these things would be tampered with by the Beast power (Papacy) "he shall think to change TIME & LAW.

I've told you about the changes they made to the 10 Commandments,, and now I am telling you they also changed the timing of the days. Both of these occurences were prophesized in the scripture Daniel 7:25!!!!

@Mr. Beebe

I believe in living with the Earth. The Earth is my spirituality. Living by the seasons, celebrating by the turn of them, the moon, and sun. Learning about life through my environment, through family, through myself is all spirituality to me.

So when I celebrate the full moon, for example, it may come on a tuesday or wednesday. There is no sacred scripture that says it should come on a Tuesday because my culture (in this analogy) dictates it so. Rather, I go with the flow. That is life. That is our innerself.

So,, I will Not understand why Saturday and Sunday is important to JW and Catholics (and those who agree) on a spiritual level. It makes no sense. If the seventh day to you rests on what man calls Saturday, so be. If a Catholic says it rests on a Sunday, so be.

The names are not the point. God rests on the seventh day. Why judge your brother on how he observes the rotation of the earth.

That makes NO sense to me whatsoever. Yeah, I understand scripture and context. In my worldview, I don't see how those two days makes any difference with how you worship your God.

Tuesday and Wednesday doesn't dictate my reverence to the Earth. As long as I am doing it when the water is at its highest and observing that we are born from the water and how it affects all of us during those two weeks, I am find with that.

We are different; and, that is not wrong.

If you have read this, thank you. I have to get going; I have some errans to do.

We will talk again, I hope.

Your post was made in ignorance. You are basically saying that the "Gentile" as well as the "Jew" can sin as they please that there is no law to guide any of us. Ignorant theology. Especially, when the Book of Revelations says of the Saints: "..here are those who keep the Commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus." Revelation 12:17. And again in Revelation 14:12 " Here are those who keep the Commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus.".... And yet again we are told in Revelation 22:14 "Blessed are they that do His Commandments that they may have the right to the tree of life..." So,, you are surely not properly dividing the word of truth. In fact, you are ignoring the scriptures.

I said that. It's called Apostate Protestantism. Those churches that observe Sunday are the Daughters of the Mother Harlot (The Church of Rome).
The more posts I read of yours, the less sense they make, plus you have me saying things that I didn't state nor imply. Since insulting others seems to be the hallmark of your "faith", I'm so happy I don't belong there. Jesus preached love, and that seems to be seriously missing from most of your posts.
