I think I should repeat this: You can decide whether or not you will have sex, but you can't decide who you will be attracted to.

I think that is an important fact.

thats hard wired in to us, remember when God said a man and a woman....:)
So, if you wanted to, you could turn gay just like that, right? I think you should. Turn gay, right now. That would sure shut us bleeding-hearts up, now wouldn't it?

So....let me know when you're gay, and we'll continue.

"It has also been noted that homosexual males are more often the younger siblings of a number of older brothers.

Scientists have said it might be that the mother develops some kind of resistance to the male Y chromosome in her offspring that makes subsequent baby boys more likely to be born gay."

yet identical twins are born and one can be gay....:)

I chose not to be gay just as gays chose to be gay....:)

But you could be gay? You have the ability to change your sexual attraction? Not whether you want to or not, do you have the ability?

Tell me, why would I choose to be something that could get me beaten to death, fired, evicted and generally discriminated against?

Until your father gives up his lifestyle you are not going to get anywhere, he is choosing to be a homosexual he is enjoying that lifestyle.
Do you want your father to become a Christian and still be gay ?
So if a gay person comes to you seeking to know God, you will turn him away?

Btw, can someone tell me what the "gay lifestyle" is? I'd really like to know if I'm living it properly and to its fullest.

what rubbish of course you can choose who you are attracted to...:)

Does this mean that I could have chosen to be attracted to Festus (Gunsmoke) instead of Magnum PI? Does this also mean my husband can choose to be attracted to Rosanne rather than Wonder Woman? :D (Sorry, couldn't resist).

That's why there are also hormonal aspects

"Some psychologists, for instance, believe that areas of the brain controlling sexual desire may be affected by hormone irregularities while the child is still in the womb. Other psychologists believe that a homosexual orientation may result from failing to identify properly with other members of the same sex or with the parent of the same sex. Almost all of these theories agree that a person's sexual orientation is set by an early age (about 3 or 4). It is possible, then, that a person could be gay because of something that is neither genetic nor a choice."

If the gay person is living in a gay relationship and has no intention of changing that relationship yes I would turn them away from my church, I would talk to them in private, even do a bible study, if they clearly would not change after that I would let them be...

trust me if any of this was based in solid facts it would be yelled off the rooftops and every newspaper in the world....:)

I still have a question (for those who believe that being gay is a sin): If a person chooses never to have sex again, but is still openly gay, do you still believe that he or she is still sinning or not? What do you think the real sin is: Being gay or sodomy, both or neither? Does this even matter?

Research tends to disagree with you

"Research suggests that the homosexual orientation is in place very early in the life cycle, possibly even before birth. It is found in about ten percent of the population, a figure which is surprisingly constant across cultures, irrespective of the different moral values and standards of a particular culture."
