Humans love better than God

i see it as believers and unbelievers are to live among eachother and when the rapture, or whatever...time of death...the time of reaping comes to pass...that is when they will be divided...

I'm sorry waitasec....I find it very difficult-impossible to discuss/argue scripture interpritation with a non theist/Atheist who takes a Conservative Christian/ literalist aproach that leads to the "rapture" or non believers burning in hell.

I don't get it...I don't argue with them...and, if that's the way you read the scripture, I won't argue with you.

You will need to find someone who holds that particular cosmology/mindset....but perhaps you already have.;)

On Edit-
" I was taught that anyone who doesn't accept God and Jesus as their savior and repent from their sin, they spend eternity in hell. Thats's the rule." waitasec

Mate!........You had a crappy teacher with crappy rules!

It makes perfect sense. You send yourself there by the choices you make in this life.
then god wants perfection...

If you don't want to go to "hell" - wherever or whatever you believe that is - lets presume a bad place - then making choices which demonstrate an understanding and giving of love should be sufficient. But we should define love. I am talking about love for everything and everyone - without conditions attached. Pure, unconditional love.
god requires perfection

We will never be perfect in our demonstration of this love but as long as we strive towards it with a pure heart, we are on the path to the source of all love.
and...? aren't we all "trying" to be the best we can be? emphasis on trying

Hell, is not a place but a state of absence of love. Meditate on this state and you will see it is "like the nethermost fire".
i agree...there is no hell and there is no heaven
only what we make of our lives in the here and now

Look into your own heart - what do you see? Do you see hatred or love? OK, there may be both, but which is dominant, which do you want to guide your life? Ponder this and you will know what choices you will make and to where they will lead you.
i agree with you, but what biblical scriptures can you present that would support this type of reasoning...that there is no hell...in the after life, which is the argument that was put forth...
people do believe there is a hell...i don't think you are one of 'em...

30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’”

the weeds represents the unbelievers and the wheat represents the believers..
this is implying hell in the parable...
he goes into detail of what happens to the weeds, but doesn't go into detail what happens to the wheat...
if it doesn't mean hell then what is it then?
Who is, in your opinion, the "Son of Man"?

Yes, God is looking for perfection in us but if he is using that as a pass to heaven, then its gonna be a very lonely place!
If I am surrounded by love in my mortal life - I have achieved 'heaven on earth'. If I am enveloped in hatred, then I have achieved 'hell on earth'.
In the next world, these two states continue, and I have a choice what I want to be a part of - love or lack of love. I have the choice between 'heaven' and 'hell'.
What scriptures? Baha'i Scriptures.

Yes, you've already explained that. What I'm asking is why you interpret it that way.

if it doesn't mean hell then what is it then?
that isn't the part of your interpretation I'm questioning.

It's because you insult bad Yehova by not thinking he exists. he tried saving you. It's like if your friend said: Yo Where is God, You don't even think I exist, **** you.
Perfectly understandable: if you didn't believe in your friend, he would let you suffer forever in which ever pit you threw yourself in. That's what a perfect thing always does. Just tells you not to jump, then shrugs and sighs. ;)

The idea of a loving God sending people to hell over not believeing in him is like this:

I put a gun to your head right now and say, "Hey, SAVE YOURSELF; Worship me, tell me I am perfect, and that I show unconditional love for everyone, and I won't blow your brains onto the sidewalk!"

Come on people seriously!! Think about it! Ughh

This has literally nothing to do with what I was talking about.

Sorry,
Clearly my mind is muddled and not reading you clearly.

My heart is filled to the rim wiyh love as it should be. But what one if my main points of this thread is that humans should just love unconditionally. We don't need God for that.

If a billionaire was forced to give away a million dollars, is that really a nice thing to do? No. He was told to. If it was his own free will, this wouls be an act of true love and selflessness, thats what humanity should aim for <3

My belief system says that the reason we are able to love unconditionally is because of Gods love for us, he has given us the capacity.
"O Son of Man - I loved thy creation, hence I created thee. Wherefore do thou love Me, that I may name thy name and fill thy soul with the spirit of life." - Baha'i Writings.

Absolutely!!

You pretty much just contradicted yourself by saying God allows us to love, but we should love without God.
I hate it when I cant articulate what I mean.
God has given us the ability to love unconditionally. Whether we do so or not is our choice. Should we all strive to love unconditionally? Well, I think so. Do we all? Clearly not.
I don't need to think of God to exercise unconditional love. I can do that automatically because. like you my heart is full of love (most of the time!), but I am imperfect. Sometimes I do not live up to my God given capacity for unconditional love.
I know many atheists who demonstrate unconditional love. So in that sense, one does not need God to love. But perhaps the atheist is unaware of where his capacity for love came from?
Are you confused?? I'm confused!! :D:D

I am only confused as to why you or anyone else would believe that God is the only reason you are able to love. Science lets us do that. Chemical reactions that living beings developed over time give us the ability to have the instinct of pro creation sex. God needs not be involved.
