The following are not my words, but I thought they were worth sharing.

"No book has ever had as much opposition as the Bible. Men have laughed at it, scorned it, burned it, ridiculed it, and made laws against it. But the Word of God has survived. And it is applicable today as much as it was yesterday and will be tomorrow.

It’s so majestically deep that scholars could swim and never touch the bottom. Yet so wonderfully shallow that a little child could come and get a drink of water without fear of drowning. That is God’s precious, holy Word. The Word of God. Know it. Believe it. It is True."

I have considered, and I have rejected Hinduism along with its many false gods. Brahma is not the one true GOD.

But what if you're wrong? You may have rejected it, but that doesn't mean it's not true. I've rejected your God after all (used to be my God too, by the way), but my rejection of your God doesn't say anything about whether I'm right or you're right. One of us is wrong, and your statements of certainty are no more certain than my statements of certainty.

Your statement that I responded to, which I've heard countless times from religious folks, is that "hey, if you atheists are right we will all just die and wink out of existence, but if I'm right you'll burn in hell for failing to worship Jesus/God."

The idea being everyone should consider changing over to Christianity just in case we are wrong because the consequences of being wrong is damnation to the Christian idea of hell.

But Christians such as yourself refuse to worship other Gods they don't believe in just in case y'all are wrong. Right? I mean if the Muslims are right and you're not following Islam the consequences for you will be damnation to hell. But you simply don't believe, and couldn't believe even if you tried, in the Islamic version of God.Therefore you should be able to clearly see why others wouldn't...or more accurately...couldn't...worship your God just in case.

What's this .. divide & rule?
Almighty God will judge between us all ... He knows who is sincere
Many denominations might say that they are the only ones to go to heaven, but they are not God .. they do not stop and think what they are saying. This is because satan is our enemy and wishes us to fail through arrogance and speak foolishly

In the beginning of this thread, I said: "I believe in God the Father, his son, Jesus, and Gods written word. I also said, I do not believe religions, or the bible are from God.
God written word are in the scrolls. Jesus is in the scrolls. There are over fifty scrolls. The bible was constructed under the, Emperor Constantine, who did not believe in our God, (Christian) but made the State religion A Christian(sic) religion. He knew there was more power controlling the people with a religion. many of the scriptures are as they were in the scrolls, but many words have been changed. Only four scrolls were used. Read the scrolls, you will find there is a big difference between the scrolls and the bible. Jesus and those who followed him, used the scrolls...God's word never has to be up dated, or changed.
Adam was in Paradise. (earth.) Father and the angels are in Heaven. No where in the scrolls, or the bible does it say men go to heaven....check it out..."The meek will inherit the earth, and reside on it forever."

Is that your own invented definition of faith? It must be because I've never read it anywhere.

I didn't give a definition; I described one aspect of faith. If you want, I can explain what I base it on.

I use the Biblical definition of faith. If you really want to know what faith is, read Hebrews 11.

You mean this?

Hebrews 11:1(NET):

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see."

How is this sort of faith different from wishful thinking?

Regardless of how many evidences I post to you, you will deny them.
I'll only deny the bad ones.

I'd be wasting my time. You're mind is made up.
If anyone's mind is made up, it's yours: you're the one pre-judging the outcome here.

I thought Jesus had harsh words for hypocrisy, no?

There are many internal as well as external evidences. There has been much written about the topic.
Great - then there should be plenty of material for you to use when you make your case.

It seems you are here to disprove the validity of the Bible, and not truly seeking evidence that it is the Word of God.
First off: it's not just about me. Regardless of how you feel about me personally, there are plenty of other people reading this thread. If you can show them that you're justified and I'm unreasonable, then you'll have reached people even if I'm not convinced.

As for my own motivations, I have two that are especially relevant to this thread:

- I want to learn about what people believe and why, just in order to understand other people's perspectives.

- I'd like to find a reason to consider Christian beliefs to be worthy of respect. I've looked a lot at Christianity; some of it in an attempt to become a Christian myself, and some from talking with Christians since then. I found no way to accept the core beliefs of Christianity without sacrificing my intellectual honesty, and the longer I go, the more it seems to me that there just may not be an intellectually honest way to do this for anyone... but I'd love to be proven wrong.

They're not!

I've the one true God. There is no other.
Whether you are willing to admit it or not, there is no way of knowing for sure. There is no way of knowing absolutely whether God exists at all. Stubbornness in this regard doesn't make a difference.

They can't believe the Bible isn't perfect because they might need it to know what God says. I am aware that the best people did not have the Bible. Hebrews 11:4-40

ok....but...
do we now disregard all of scripture?
or do we continue to cherry pick?

I do like cherries
Cherries are good, but some scriptures are not cherries. They are poison berries.

If anyone can possibly hear me, I'd like to say again that what God says we might know, listen to and pay attention to to obey God.
To call something that was changed to reflect a man's opinion (or a man's mistake) God's word is BAD. Bad, bad, bad.

I agree with you. It seems absurd to contend that scripture must be accepted or rejected 100%.
Nope. It doesn't ''have'' to be. However the arguments to the contrary aren't well thought out. Where is the explanations for all the mistakes , that are presented in that paradigm? They aren't there. It isn't legit.

My Scripture, /besides the syncretism,, is the Tanach. The reason why all of it is valid, because once you start assuming 'mistakes', in Scripture, your liable to just end up with a contradictory mess. As evidenced by the contradictory arguments that are presented, when people do that.
But it is a contradictory mess. I think finding contradictions is the start of seeking what was really said.

For instance, I think it is TRUE that anyone sinning the sins of Proverbs 6:17-19 is hating Jehovah.

Do you agree? Look at it! Someone has added to it that it is Jehovah who hates. But it says "six these hate יְהוָ֑ה"

http://biblehub.com/text/proverbs/6-16.htm

Jehovah hates? But God is head over all. Or not? Contradiction your way. No contradiction my way.
