If "everything is energy" then what does this mean?

Ah, wrong! There is no taint of Zen in the present moment! You are contaminating the present with the residue of the past.

Cliched nonsense. You are the one contaminating the present moment, in your case it's with a head full of new-age pseudo-Hindu beliefs. I doubt you have ever EXPERIENCED the present moment fully, you are far too busy preaching and posturing.

Then why is it that you fail to see the true spirit of Zen?

Rubbish! YOU are one with a head full of new-age, pseudo-Hindu beliefs, not me. If you want to enter the true spirit of Zen then let all these silly beliefs go, throw them all on the fire.
Stop preaching and posturing, be fully in the present moment! Stop following charlatans like Chopra, start thinking for yourself!

Come out of your rabbit hole and feel the sun on your face!

I know of no such thing. But a little birdie told me why you resist CC.

I reckon you're just a closet theist. You can't bear to let go of your beliefs, so you give them a different name.

What you will never understand is how liberating it is to be done with all these childish beliefs, all the mental baggage that obscures our vision.

If something is not really something and nothing is not really nothing, then I fail to see them as relative opposites. Those "ends" or "opposites" aren't actually real either way.

"Now I am going to tell you something....
There is a beginning. There is no beginning of the beginning of that beginning.
There is no beginning of that no beginning of beginning. There
is something before the beginning of something and nothing,
and something before that. Suddenly there is something and
nothing. But between something and nothing, I still don't really
know which is something and which is nothing....."

So what does that mean? Do explain. The poor guy sounds a bit confused to me.

I just burned 'The Simplicity of the Present Moment' scriptures penned by Pseudo-Master Rick O'Shez, the Buddhish charlatan. Now I am free!

It's because you still have residue contaminating the present moment in the way, and the truth seems to be a terrible Muddle.

But maybe I am wrong, and you really do know the difference between something and nothing. Your years of strict Zen practice must have revealed this difference to you, no doubt.

Still, we sometimes need to point a finger or two to the Moon. With a little practice, I have managed to peel a potato or two while doing so. It's all in the finger....er....wrist...

Blah, blah, Zen cliches from the side of a cornflake box again.

So do explain the Tao quote. What does it mean, and why did you post it?

You can't even see the moon from down in that rabbit hole!

We rabbits are laughing our arses off.

It must be like a lunatic asylum down there, all the rabbits shouting out their favourite pretentious proper nouns!

"Cosmic Consciousness"!

"No, Universal Consciousness is better!"

"No, Ultimate Reality is best!"

"No, you all believe in God really!"

I have, and like I said the guy sounds confused.

I am now waiting for you to explain what it means and why you posted it.

Or are you going to admit that you don't know what it means, or why you posted it?

Oh, I know full well what it means, but why rob you of the illumination by killing it with an 'explanation'? Really, Spiney, if you really want to experience the true spirit of Zen, it is absolutely essential that you open up your intuitive mind. Then Chuang Tzu will become clear to you.
