Is atheism a threat to humanity?

Any self professing "atheist" is here for only one of two reasons...
either they are seeking answers (undercover), or they are here tp mock people of "faith" ( which is hateful ).
so, what's your story ?
You've been here all of a couple months.
There's more going on that you currently see.
I recommend calming down....observe & understand before judging.

ratiocinator

Lightly seared on the reality grill.
Do you understand that a particle of dust contains MANY atoms ?
Do you understand that your body contains MANY particles of dust ?
Do you understand that what you "think" you are is nothing but "DUST" then ???????

You really do need to get a basic knowledge of science. I do not think I am nothing but dust because it's utter nonsense.

I am well aware of what goes on in the heart of a man, I "observe" it taking place every day.
And this is what "offends" people, when someone can "see through them ". (expose)

And I don't judge anyone, that's not my job.

Why did conditions allow for that chemistry to happen ?

Rephrasing your question, doesn't answer my objection.
What makes you think that there is a "why" to ask about?
Your question is loaded. It assumes a purpose by asking the "why" question.

So what makes you that "why" is a sensible question?

True arrogance is this : " I don't know, so therefore you don't know either "
So I guess it's a good thing then, that nobody here said such a thing?

Also... if you claim to know, then I'll just ask you to demonstrate it.
If you can't, then you don't actually know. Then you just believe.

As the infamous saying goes "You don't know it, if you can't show it"

That's correct, "YOU" are not dust, your physical body is...
but "YOU" are not your body...

Oh?

So let's look at someone with advanced Alzheimer's or other serious brain damage.

Is that the same person as before?

If your brain contains your memory, your likes, dislikes, opinions, etc. Take that away and what is left of 'you'.

Everything you know and are is a result of your biology and how it deals with the very physical sensory input it gets.

Stripped of all that(ignoring the fact that we have 0 examples of life existing without a body to examine), what even continues? A blank slate unable to learn, remember, think, or have opinions? Unable to feel anything?(as thinking and feeling are measurable brain phenomenon).

Continuing in such a manner sounds hellish.

lol.....they are both the same thing, ultimately,

No, they are not.

or have you never heard of the law of cause and consequence (effect) ????

First of all, that's not really a law in the classical sense of the world.
Secondly, we all know about causality.

The question you are being asked is if you understand the difference between "cause" and "purpose". Apparantly you do not.

like two sides of the same coin....your favorite Idiom...
But different sides.
Like all thumbs are fingers but not all fingers are thumbs.
Likewise, not all causes have some purpose, like you seem to be implying.
Some causes have. Many don't.

So, what CAUSED life to evolve on this planet, and what was the PURPOSE behind it ?

What makes you think there was a purpose behind it?

I don't do "demonstrations"......I leave that to the "demons" ( daemons )
the ones that control your thinking every minute , of every day.

Bodies aren't made of dust.
At least not the colloquial use of the word "dust". Perhaps in some kind of astral poetic notion, but in a material physical sense, your question makes no sense at all.

Do you understand that what you "think" you are is nothing but "DUST" then ???????

So, some kind of poetic notion it is then.
You are welcome to use such language, but note that poetic representation of such doesn't actually reflect actual reality properly.

If I were to judge you, I would be judging myself...
or do you not know that we are ALL One....

And if not, then perhaps THAT is where the problem lies ?
Cryptic language does not change the fact that you
deigned to judge why all atheists are here on RF.
You made this judgement as a newbie who doesn't
yet know us. This bespeaks the sin of hubris, &
perhaps pride.
Again, you should be conversing & asking questions
more before making such certain pronouncements.

I can take your brain out of your skull,
I can see it,
I can touch it,
I can smell it ( pppp uuu ! )
I can taste it if I want ( yuk ! )

But your MIND, I can never touch ( except with WORDS )
now, go and learn the difference

Right......that must be why you bath every day ( or need to )..
Could it be because you are ROTTING, minute by minute ?

perhaps ?

The heart pumps blood.

Aside from when you called @QuestioningMind "hateful" for no reason and myself a "fool" for no reason.

Sounds pretty judgemental to me....

"heart" = Mind = SPIRIT

And, we are , what we are...."Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks " ( Mathew 12:34 )

and note, I didn't call anyone a "snake" ( yet ).
