Is being gay a sin according to your religion?

Look, I am a heterosexual man that is married with one son...and the only thing that I've done on these "past couple of pages" was express my opinion on the subject of homosexuality as far as my interpretation of the bible is concerned..and as far as this interpretation is concerned, I am completely in line with biblical teachings, and if that causes me to get a "Yikes", then....oh well :cigar:

You are not getting those kinds of replies because of your opinion on homosexuality, but because you ridiculously keep equating homosexuality with pedophilia, and other crimes.

You have already been asked to stop the ridiculousness of equating homosexuality with crimes!
See, that is what separates God's law from man's law. You are talking about "crimes", I am talking about what is right or wrong according to God's law. Big difference there. Even if a law was passed that makes any and every kind of sexual act permissible, guess what, in God's law it would STILL BE WRONG, and that is what I am basing my posts off of.

FALSE! You are equating a sexual orientation, - which YOU believe the Bible is against (no proof,) - with real crimes against children and humanity.

That is just ridiculous, and people are rightly letting you know!

Hinduism talks about sex-change. Shikhandi born as a woman changing into a male. It also talks about inability to perform sex (kleva), allowing a woman to conceive from a person other than her husband (niyoga) and full acceptance of the child, but I have not come across any incident of homosexuality.

Humm! That's very interesting.

I am a Catholic and my religion teaches that suffering from same sex attraction is not a sin but if you act on that action in a sexual way then it is definitely a sin and gravely so. This is my belief and I hold it as the universal truth.

Reading comprehension, people. I specifically used an example which involved a law being passed at which it was legal to have relations with children...so if that was the case, then it would be no "REAL CRIME AGAINST CHILDREN OR HUMANITY", and if God doesn't exist, then there is no objective right or wrong anyway, regardless of how strong anyone disagrees.

But so what if there is no objective right or wrong? It would make no difference.

Right and wrong would still exist and have weight amd meaning even if they were not objective.

My point is, for at least the 5th time...any sexual relation and or thought that doesn't involve a man and his WIFE is against the word of God. Point blank, period.

According to the word of God, homosexuality and pedophilia are both abominations, point blank, period.

It really doesn't matter whether you are too tired or full of endless energy. You specifically stated that people can't force themselves to stop their sexual feelings, and this was in regards to homosexuals...all I did was draw a parrallel between homosexual feelings and other kinds of sexual feelings...and all you could say was "well, people with those "kinds" of feelings should see a doctor", well, I could easily say that normal sexual feelings are between male and females, so if a male is homosexual, then HE needs to see a doctor...as if your sexual feelings towards men is ok and other sexual feelings aren't.

Again, as far as I'm concerned, from a biblical perspective, any kind of sexual feelings towards anyone but your spouse is WRONG...and it is precisely based on that, that we can just go ahead and throw anything that doesn't fit the [male-female-marriage] criteria into the pits of darkness where it belongs, which would include homosexuality, lesbianism, transgender, fornication, adultery, pedophilia, zoophilia, etc.

I'm really holding my tongue when it comes to what I REALLY want to say to you because if I say it, I'll be banned. Needless to say, I'm disgusted with this hateful tripe and you should be ashamed of yourself. Your words are the perfect example of why people are turning away from Christianity more and more.

I'm pretty sure if Jesus of Nazereth were alive today, the last thing he'd be was a Christian. I'd like to think of him more as a deist. Jesus never said a single thing about homosexuality. It was either some tribal Old Testament law, or that serial-killing sexist, Paul.
