You seem to be implying that I stated somewhere that the two were unrelated or disconnected. I never said or even implied this.

All I said it that it was unlikely that Buddhism is a branch of Hinduism due to Gautama Buddha’s apparent limited knowledge of Hinduism.

No there , each temple has a monk who are in "charge" of the daily life there, the only organisation there is, is that example here in Norway we have a registration that we are buddhists. But on the world basis there is not a organisation that is political based

Some clame it to be the closest to the teaching Buddha Sakyamuni was teaching, But honestly i do not know. But i think it was the first that was written down as suttas. But here i can be wrong.
