Is it wrong to advocate homosexuality as a sin?

O.K., so now we know why Carico makes such comically poor arguments. She likes to be mocked, as it vindicates her opinion that she's a prophet. It's kind of sad, really.

That's an interesting insight.

Of course, if she were the real prophet of a true god, she would reason better for her reasoning would come from a god. But anyone who reasons as poorly as she does -- especially anyone who uses as many straw men as she does -- must be the false prophet of a false god.

Carico: It's possible that all prophets are mocked. However, it does not necessarily follow that all who are mocked are prophets. Please keep that in mind as you continue on your path.

I, myself being a Christian, believe that Christians need to step it up. Jews have to memorize Genisis through Duetoronomy. Gangstars change their names, their lifestyles, and the way they live for their Gang. I think that Muslims read the entire Koran, (Not positive at all) The New testament is about as long as the books of law. We should memorize IT by the time we are thirteen. (I havent even READ the entire new testament yet, so myself included.)

So what you say is true, when saying the church ignores many things these days.

.... woops. I was responding to something on, like, page 1. Haha, sorry about that.

I've done the same thing. I'll check what looks like an interesting post, come up with what I'm sure will be a devastating reply...and then find out that not only was it on the first page of what is now a hundred-page thread, but that reply was already given by someone else about two days ago, and responded to with an even wittier riposte.

No problem, the title of this thread is "is it wrong to call homosexuality a sin?"

Casting skepticism on Carico's claims to be a prophet of God, but that's not important. Read a few pages back. If you find anything worth responding to, have at it, and if not, then just come up with something of your own.

Carico claims to be a prophet from God? What has she done to make herself believe that?

If you read further back a few pages in this thread and the threads "genocide in 1 samuel 15:2-3" and "Hell is real" those threads should give you a good idea of what has been going on. We need to get back on topic of homosexuality before a mod closes this thread for being off topic too long.

I think it is wrong to advocate homosexuality as a sin. I think it supports and contributes to prejudice against and ignorance of homosexuality. I think spreading the idea, that homosexuality is a sin, is harmful to many, especially gay youths (who are not worldly enough to see past the nonsense).
I think you're right. Gay people are entitled to be so; and not to be bothered by others because of it. If they live positive, helpful lives... it should be cool with us.

Not that I doubt it, but can you point me to a specific post?

Someone said awhile back that gay relationships are just based on lust but I know many gay couples who are together and they are just like any other couple, they pay their bills, work, maintain a home. They aren't out whoring around every night.

Yup. Romans 1:26, "In the same way, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones." ;) That's in the passage where God says that people do what ought not to be done.

Now we have to establish what is the criteria for determining whether or not something is "shameful" or "unnatural". Your wacky book needs sources other than itself, otherwise it's invalid.

I've explained why the sexual union between a man and a woman in the covenant of marriage is so valuable to God. But I don't expect people who put their desires before God and everyone else to understand that. They'll simply have to find out what God means when they die. End of story.
