Is prostitution "immoral"?

I think the best insight would come from actual strippers, prostitutes and porn stars themselves.
Because they would obviously not know and or admit to be exploited.
Even though we have no idea how it is they are being exploited.

Not to mention that they have to have mental issues....

To be fair, I did read somewhere once that victims of sexual assault/abuse often turn to promiscuity to trivialize sex as a coping mechanism.

There is a fine line between prostitution and rape.

Most of prostitution is willing full, even if they don't want to do it (like work)

Being drugged and tortured is a completely different thing :slap:

Sorry but I really don't see the difference, all sexual exploitation is rape.

Actually, the subject is a pretty complex one. For instance, women working on the streets -- about 80% of them -- would prefer to be doing something else for a living if they could. But women working in bordellos report that their experience has raised ttheir self-esteem and sense of empowerment. So the issue isn't for the simple-minded.

Let's say there is a guy named Jake. Jake has his eyes set on this huge widescreen television, but he's short on cash at the moment, so being the impatient man he is he decides to make a deal with a buddy of his he met down at the gay swingers club that he frequents to do some sexual favors in exchange for some cash. He is being raped?

Heh, he could be being "raped".

Or it could be foreplay

Do you only consider it "exploitation" when money is involved?

I mean, if the girlfriend says to the boyfriend: "no more sex till we get married" is that considered exploitation?

Let's say a man has a one night stand with a woman. Would it be considered rape once he bought her breakfast and paid her cab fair?
