As far as i know, Meth is not doing it to sell the meat. So the point stands. I do not live in the US, therefore i do not know of the conditions there, as i would not expect you to understand the conditions here (not like most Americans would...)
OH NO!!! Meat eaters were mostly born eating meat. They have grown to love the stuff, they cannot live without it general... I get that, and i understand, just the same way i cannot start eating meat. You just love throwing the generalities out don't you? Yes I'm an American currently living in America. But I spent many years in the Middle East and Central Asia while growing up and later working. So don't give me this "not like most Americans would" BS. You may have been speaking to Meth but you certianly made is sound as though you think all meat eaters enjoy killing furry little bunnies. You are speaking from a place of hatred and that only breeds more hatred, no matter what you eat.

One American guy here was trying to tell me that i shouldnt call my freinds "mates" because it means your life partner (or something like that) Then i tried to reason, by saying it is just what we say here in the UK. He was pretty dumbfounded that English people thought for themselves. Not to mention most Americans i have ever talked to think i am either cockney or posh.
Ha? i say this from experience. What do they say it from? TV.And so you fall into the trap of acting exactly like they do. How did you feel about the people who made those mistakes? How do you feel now that you have made the same mistakes? The world is a huge wonderous place and it is important to not only ignore those too blind to see it but to not become one of them as well.

How can he practice true compassion who eats the flesh of an animal to fatten his own flesh ?
The Hindu scripture Tirukural Verse 251
I recommend the vegetarian lifestyle, yet understand that life always feeds off of life, no matter how hard we try to step away from this fact~
Ok Meth, first ever disagreement between you and I.
Personally, i could never bring myself to simply waste that sort of life. Why waste a perfectly innocent little life? How would you like getting shot and bleeding to death just for fun?
Stupid as it may sound, rabbits/hares have children. The children depend on their mothers (maybe even fathers?) to get them food and teach them essential life skills.
It is not up to us to just end a life because it might be fun. It is not fair, they have a right to live a life just like us.
Didn't you say you were 14?Ha? i say this from experience. What do they say it from? TV.
Now I'm all for everybody having something to bring to the table, no matter what age. But you have much less experience than most of us on here. Myself, I have 8 years more than you. And I understand your viewpoint, as I once had it. Once you get out in the world more, you'll come to realize that people like that are all over the world. Trust me, I live in Southern California. It's ridiculous.Don Penguinoini from the Masturbation thread said:I'm 14. Do you suggest i break the law and get a girl knocked up?
Because animal life has a central nervous system that feels pain. Humans dont need meat so why do they need to hurt other beings ? It is only for personal pleasure.
Didn't you say you were 14?
I prefer it when you treat me like an adult Do not hold back... I fight fire with fire!Don's only 14? Wow.
Don, I'm impressed with your egarness to learn and discuss things here on the forum, keep it up. My appologies if I have come across as too harsh although I do stand by my statements. My intent is to defend my beliefs and rights and I hope that has come across. I hope, also, that you can think on the things said here and the advice given.
I did not understand the situation... I thought you were doing it as a sport. In this case i apolagiseWhile you are right in your following post, I do not sell the meat. But I feed the dog, yet that's not the main reason I shoot them.
Here, rabbits and hares are pests, and are rather unhelpful on the farm. While cows, like other grazing animals, graze the grass and leave a portion of the stalk so the grass may continue to grow, these animals eat it right down so it can't grow again. They also tunnel into the ground, causing our cows at times to break their legs when the tunnels collapse.
Same with possums, ferrets stoats and rats. All these pests were introduced when Europeans came to NZ, and are devastating to an ecosystem that has, firstly, no natural predators of these types, and secondly, no natural predators to keep these animal populations in check. They've devastated the populations of our flightless (and rather defenceless) native birds, one of which (the Takahe, I believe) was thought extinct, and the rest have been extraordinarily lucky to not have been wiped out.
So, sure, while these pests may have an "equal right" to live, so do our native flora and fauna. Ferrets, stoats, possums, rabbits, hares, rats... they have well established populations elsewhere in the world, while kiwi, tui, takahe, kauri, rimu (to name only a handful of our thousands of unique species) are only found in NZ. It would be a terrible loss to the world for these to be wiped out completely.
We are simply trying to reverse the mistakes of the early settlers, who really had no idea of the consequences of the actions they were undertaking.
Yeah you are right. It is something i do not wish to admit, but it is true, i suppose you need to know the person. But, i cannot always learn case to case. Sometimes generalisations are necessary. If i see a gang of youths and i might not take the detour because not all youths are bad... They might stab me, they might not, they probably won't. That was a generalisation by assuming they were dangerous. Now I'm all for everybody having something to bring to the table, no matter what age. But you can't make generalizations about people from other countries just like you can't make generalizations about people with other religions, as I'm sure you've discovered in your time here. People only fall into having such generalizations about people so that it "saves them time" in thinking about what people are actually like.

Over here (in my area particularly) you will be lucky to find an adult, period.Oh I consider a 14 year old to be an adult but it can be surprising to find one acting like one. Good on ya!
