Do not compare man and animals. We are totally different.
We have developed into rational and intelligent beings, we can decide what we eat and what sustains us.
We have found a meat-free diet is as if not more healthy then a meat rich diet.
This however does not suggest meat is bad, both come with their pro's and con's. In my opinion, meat-rich diets come with more con's.
Yes we should. That is the beauty of the free will and unique quality of each and every man and woman.we can decide what we eat and what sustains us.
but we shouldn't have to

Problem 1# No-one is saying meat eaters are less enlightened, please stop saying this now...
For something as important as the cow, we can make/find room for as many as possible we seem to accomodate businesses and the transport neede without batting an eyelid, which are detremental to our environment, also all the vegetable matter thrown away by us could be processed into cattle feed.(one idea could be using the cattle that die of old age as pet food)You don't want to what for the animal to die. If to old then the meat is all to good to eat for nutrition, plus if it dies of something other then old age you really don't want to eat it because it might have die from something that can harm anything that eats it. There many cow too, if you kept them all for milk you would have less room for them all, and the living conditions for them could be worse, it would be hard to keep food for them all. Over population even with cow farms is not a good thing. I will agree that way to many cow are killed for food and there meat go to wast, but to keep more alive, especially with the way most cattle farm are all ready crowded and all, it would be worse to keep more crowded in there.
No, we shouldn't.Yes we should. That is the beauty of the free will and unique quality of each and every man and woman.
I disagree. I think that people find it easier to grow crops, since they grow faster and can harvest faster than waiting for cattle to fatten and then kill, eat and so on. Many humans could EASILY be sustained on a vegetarian diet, the space we use to grow meat could produce MUCH more vegetarian food. But even if we wanted to, it would be catastrophic if everyone decided not to eat meat. It would cause a huge 'imbalance' in the food chain, as mentioned previously, but mainly, many humans would die due to the climate/poverty/other factors that prevent them from surviving on anything other than, say, the few cattle they breed.
Trey, i am a terrible quoter on the forum, i have never got the thing, so i am working in order of your repliesWhy, and how? Especially physically? I would say there is no physically difference between humans and animals, the differences are mental and spiritual.
Does rational and intelligent beings mean the same as rational and intelligent animals? Is this what separates us from animals? Especially the ability to decide what we eat? Does the ABILITY to choose separate us or does WHAT we choose separate us?
In this contex you are speaking of We as Humans in general. I think you meant We in a Vegetarian contex instead. I don't think humanity has discovered any such thing.
But you have suggested that meat is bad.
Well, that was wrong and I do not share that view at all.Yes someone did, go back and read some of the post by Suraj. He does call us less enlightened, and he all said less evolved and uncaring, and unloving.
Ok then.No, we shouldn't.
