No, if you look closely the small group of men begin to disperse away from her, then the soldiers begin aiming their weapons at her. It appears that she did something which frightened the group of men and thus they all moved away from her.

to stab then she was able to do so at 00:32 and also can stab the Israeli soldier woman at 00:28, notice that they intentionally
cut the strip at 00:28 so we can't see that the Israeli woman walked so close to her, we can see the Israeli woman
in one position and then suddenly in another position.

At roughly 37 seconds all three men appear to move away from her. Timing doesn't matter, if she had intentions to stab then it's completely her choice as to when to attack someone, it just so appears that she attempted that between 33-37 seconds in.

Although we may never know for sure, there is room for speculation since all we have to go off at the moment is a choppy, grainy CCTV video.

At the same time though, the UK does not have the same special geopolitical issues as Israel. We're not living next door to our "enemy".

Later on we will have to look at the police report to see if she was in fact carrying a knife, only time will tell.

Not knowing the most important details, if she won't withdraw from being a threat then in many places law enforcement can make the decision. They have various degrees of protocol that deal with how much time to give a person to favourably respond and how to deal with it - same as most places

My only position based on the obvious details - the Israelis involved don't have a responsibility to risk serious injury like some seem to be bringing up in the thread. It's wrong to paint the woman as a straight up victim without knowing the details.

These people are in the current Knesset and all of those had the theoretical chance to form the Government after the last election.

Banita was taken in serious condition to Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem in Jerusalem where she underwent emergency surgery overnight Saturday-Sunday. She regained consciousness on Sunday. Her husband died of his wounds shortly after the attack.

“When we got back from the Western Wall, we felt that something wasn’t right,” she told Ynet from her hospital bed Sunday.

“We started walking fast but the terrorist emerged from one of the stores and lunged at us and started stabbing my husband. My husband is a strong man and started fighting him, he punched him in the face. At that point, the terrorist started stabbing me. Then he went back to my husband and stabbed him again and again. I also fought him, I tried to take away the knife, but I failed,” she recounted.

Banita said Palestinian youths who saw the attack laughed and cursed at her as she yelled for help.

She said that one of them slapped her and another laughed in her face and told her to “drop dead” when she told him she’d pay him if he helped her get away with her two babies.

“They saw that we were with two baby carriages,” she said.

Banita — stabbed, bleeding and losing consciousness fast — said she used her last ounces of energy to run toward security forces for help.

“I said ‘I’m hurt, my husband is stabbed and my two babies are there alone,’ then I lost consciousness,” she said.

Nehemia Lavi, an Old City resident who heard the screams, came to help and he too was stabbed and killed by the terrorist.

Lavi and Banita were laid to rest at the Givat Shaul cemetery in Jerusalem.

In video footage that emerged from the attack, Halabi, a 19-year-old resident of al-Bireh near Ramallah, can briefly be seen lunging at one of his victims — it’s not clear who — and wrestling him to the ground. Adele’s screams can be heard as well as a baby’s wails. The video ends with the sound of gunshots. Throughout, shopkeepers and people can be seen either looking on or running away.

At the end of the video, one man nonchalantly takes a sip of his soft drink as he looks on.
