Italian Minister sparks row with "ethnic replacement" warning

Illegal migrants, yes, they are.
We're not discussing illegal immigrants.

Legal migrants are not. But the Minister was talking about illegal immigration only.
They were not talking about illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants were not mentioned.

If there is nothing wrong with what the minister said, please explain to me why they later retracted the comments and said he "used the wrong words, for ignorance and not for racism."

Okay, now you're just lying. They were not talking about illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants were not mentioned.

If there is nothing wrong with what the minister said, please explain to me why they later retracted the comments and said he "used the wrong words, for ignorance and not for racism."
For instance I started this thread because he shouldn't have taken that back.

So you agree with his comments that he doesn't agree with and calls a result of "ignorance"?

Where did you get the idea he was referring to illegal immigrants? What made you say that?
I know you can't understand Italian, but if you push the button of subtitles-English, then you can understand most of it.

I see. But you know, the Japanese language is very distinctive, so if I listen to a person speak, I understand they are from Japan.
Even if I don't understand anything.
I was asking if you see any value in there
being distinct customs, language etc in different
countries.

He isn't talking about illegal immigration when he refers to ethnic replacement.

Again, he referred to these comments as a result of "ignorance". Do you agree with his self-admitted ignorance?

Welll...what did he say wrong?
More of the same baseless Eurocentric fear mongering we have here in the US. It's a sign of fascism and white supremacy. There is nothing to worry about. It's always ethnic majorities crying over a small percentage drop in births and migrant worker (ethnic minority) fears. Same old same old.

That experiment shows that ethnic replacement is always bad.
Whether it's Europeans or not.
The native Americans New Zealanders,
Australians or Hawaiians probably aren't crazy about being replaced.
I doubt they think it's only " theoretical".

It's just two minutes. Come on. Use the auto-translate.

Of course. Different languages, different religions.
So you do see value in there being regional
cultures.
Me too. I would not be interested to
go to Italy or japan if everyone
spoke the same language, dressed alike,
food is the same etc as e erywhere else.

There's deeper reasons imo, than that for
ethnic diversity.

Weird how anyone here could think to call me
fascist for valuing diversity.

Would they be allowed to marry and have children with 'ethnic Italians?' How do you identify 'ethnic Italian' DNA and how much would be required for Italian identity/citizenship?
Of course people can marry with whomever they want.

How do you identify an Italo-American?
It's the same answer.

As for citizenship... it's not that different than the other countries.

Now I ask you to watch the video. He doesn't mention illegal immigration until after the "ethnic replacement" comment, and the two subjects are completely unrelated.
Speaking of legal migration, do you know that many Italo-Americans are returning to Italy?
Even if they were born in the US and even if their parents were born in the US.
