A better analogy would be if Mexico started firing literally thousands of rockets/missiles into southern California. I betcha you'd be singing a very different tune if that were to happen. So, yes, not only did Israel have that right, they would have been remiss if they hadn't. Any country has a right and pretty much an obligation to try and protect its citizens.

Does US prevent Mexico from getting weapons ? wars can happen any time between countries.
