Made in the Image

Yes, God exists in the cannibal, in the pedophile, in the wolf, in the centipede. I said nothing about the body doing anything. Did you not read the quote from Paramahansa Yogananda? The gold of the soul could be covered by mud and the corruption of an evil body but the soul remains undefiled. The soul is not evil, the body is. How do you interpret being made in the image of God? What image? Certainly not a physical image unless you believe in an anthropomorphic God. That’s the problem with the Abrahamic paradigm … Christianity paints itself into a corner with its literal interpretations. It causes dilemmas and paradoxes that don’t exist in other beliefs.
How can the soul remain undefiled if it's darkened by horrible deeds?
It's actually quite as simple as who we choose to give our soul to.

Psychopaths, narcissists, sociopaths still have the ability to love, if only themselves. Spiritually they will not be as healthy as others. But another return trip or more can fix that. Everyone is drawn to the light like a moth to a flame. God doesn't give up as humans do

If it isn't 'giving up' so to speak, for the figurative 'goats' at Jesus coming Glory Time (Matthew 25:31-34) what is it __
If it isn't 'giving up, so to speak, at Isaiah 11:3-4; Revelation 19:14-15 then what is it ________________

El (deity) - Wikipedia

That only means "god" and isn't the one I'm made in the image of.
Aw, come on. He has a cool hat.
The name given, in certain circles, describes God as never ending unconditional love. Which is why I rated that post with a heart. I can't find a good internet source to validate this. But I thought it would be nice to share that.

Hammer, naturally this name comes from a schema that you may find repugnant. Totally understandable. And most people don't appreciate being told who and what they are spiritually. But I am certain it was intended as a compliment.

The soul is not performing the deeds. I thought I made that clear. The soul is not the body. Does the soul die when the body dies? Is the soul maimed when the body is maimed?

My pov is Hindu, and stated in part, in the Bhagavad Gītā:

The Blessed Lord said: “While speaking learned words, you are mourning for what is not worthy of grief [the body]. Those who are wise lament neither for the living nor for the dead. Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be.

As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change. …

That which pervades the entire body you should know to be indestructible. No one is able to destroy that imperishable soul. … For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain. …

As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, the soul similarly accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones. This individual soul is unbreakable and insoluble, and can be neither burned nor dried. He is everlasting, present everywhere, unchangeable, immovable and eternally the same. It is said that the soul is invisible, inconceivable and immutable. Knowing this, you should not grieve for the body.

This, for me, is the reason I do not believe the soul is touched by what the body does. I do mourn and grieve but it’s due to my attachment, attachment to the material is why we suffer. I still cry for my dogs who have left me but I’m mourning for myself and my weakness, no matter how many times I read the verses above.

So no, the soul is not and cannot be defiled by anything the body does. Moreover, that the body and soul are separate, and the soul is a part of God residing in the body, it is wrong to “hate” anyone unless one understands they are hating the actions of the body. That we are each portions of God, how can I hate me? If I hate you I am hating myself.

This is how distinct the body and soul are according to Hindu thought.

What we do springs from the light or darkness in our souls. Body, soul and spirit are interconnected.
"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.
But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!"

O without pressure first the image cell O won't exist. Told exactly.

O God inheritance above is life continuance as clouds amassing O cooling spin fixed above O G spiral to O core heat DD back to OO flowing....free movement.

That heavenly inheritance O God with cloud angels keeps our cells active also O. Held bio life cell cooled.

So never ever change holy heavens above or God is removed then O cell life gets attacked.

Life biologies variants...science is fixed. God is free flow and you are told.

Holding science fixed above removed organ tissue development kept safe by gods Inheritor above. It's how humans lose health....missing organs cell tissue damages as proven studied in animal bodies attacked in UFO phenomena proven warned.

That's the Christian perspective. I was Christian. The idea of the soul and body being one, that the soul is born and can be punished and/or destroyed is unpalatable and untenable vis-a-vis a loving God. Which is why I say was Christian. It doesn't reconcile a spirit made in the image of God with a soul capable of being defiled. How can something capable of defilement be an image of something incapable of evil?

Reality IS "unpalatable"..

Suffering is very real. Sometimes it happens due to our own misdeeds, and sometimes through no fault of our own.

Why would it be that God can allow suffering in this life, but disallow it in a life hereafter?
Reality is not a fairy-story .. be nice if it was, but..

What good would it do if Jesus came a 1000 times if any would refuse to accept what he had to say? You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. At some point t it has to be the listener having a come to Jesus moment. As Jesus said, behold I am with you always. Even unto the end of the age. So why ignore the fact, the part that really represents jesus' essence is already here?

It’s called karma. God has nothing to do with it.

If man is made in the image of god, then shouldn't the search for god begin in the reflection of self?

Isn't God recreating self in the image of self?

Exodus 3:14

Yes. By being introspective and understanding what that thing someone refers to as "I, " a person begins to better understand the metaphor "God."

That doesn't make sense. God by his nature is love. The deeds of darkness are done by the evil one.

And where does the evil one come from?

“I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.” Isaiah 45:7

That's not about God creating evil. Read it in about literally every other translation.
NIV:
“I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster.” Similarly, the New Living Translation offers, “I am the one who creates the light and makes the darkness. I am the one who sends good times and bad times.”

God didn't create evil but he allowed it.
