Making sense of the Pandemic

Scripture cannot be shredded of Jesus.
Who mentioned shredding Jesus?
But the Christian interpretation of Jesus is most odd to me.
Most strange. I think I know about Jesus.
But Christians turn Jesus in to their God, who they think can send sickness in to the World in vengeance or who led the Israelites out of Egypt....... I think Zi know the history of Jesus alright.

So, let's get this clear. Your god is so enraged at people disobeying him that he starts killing people. So why isn't his targeting more efficient?
If we ask the question about whether the pestilence is from God or not, that is not saying it is what is happening.
When God has had to step in it was not to murder anyone. It was to save a nation. If a parent has to correct a child that is not attacking a child. The Israelis had to learn things since they were His people. When they did horrible things and forsook Salvation He sometimes had to correct them. He never wiped them out. The guilty ones were removed from the people so that the plan of salvation of man could carry on.

Is this jesus you think you may know the same one that takes over the world to rule forever one day?

The people who came in and destroyed Jerusalem and the temple as Jesus prophesied were not sent by Christians. They were sent by Christ.

Not a problem for me at all. I can see how people are supposed to act. If I see actions that do not fit Scripture, then I know it is a con job.

History also shows that degenerate wicked people later consider good to be evil. So now, for example we might have some shrill declarations that preaching the gospel to those who knew it not was evil.
When it comes to wicked people pretending to have been Christian and doing evil, that is par for the course in this world. We should be able to tell the difference.

Funny thing is it looks like the US is quite reduced now also!
...... who knew it not........?
I often notice how Christians fall on to that kind of English. Interesting.

I have not mentioned it on RF because I have not thought it to be appropriate, given the deaths to come and the catastrophe around the World, but this dreadful situation has made me much richer, not through anything but crazy luck. Now if I was a Christian maybe I would be quietly thinking that Jesus was pleased with me? But I am a Deist... know better. :D

I don't share your fascination with typos.

It doesn't work like that. The sun rises on the just and the unjust.

Yes. Same one, and you got it completely wrong, imo.
Which is why I think that this situation is natural, caused by s virus that mutated, you know, evolved. Evolution?

Nope. They were sent by Rome.
It's just historical fact, not religious zeal that is the factual story.

Hmmm? It does not sound like we are in any real disagreement. Perhaps my confusion here derives from my consideration of theism as the general term for belief in a god or gods. While deism is within that definition, but qualifying the nature of the god to be one that is not interested or involved with what has been created.
I do often hear that position.
But Theism is all about an interested involved God. Therefore Deism can't really be part of that.

Extremists often (always?) consider themselves right, no matter how wrong they may be. They claim to know things that they cannot. No room for doubt or facts in that circle.
True. And that is what can make extremists so dangerous sometimes.
They can cause so much trouble.
I like Christians who base their message on love, but the ones who want to execute gays or stone adulterers.....? Nah! :)

I agree. Waiting for death or calling for it is not my interpretation of Christianity.

I have to do some reading it seems. Looks like I will have a little extra time for that despite still needing to go into work.

Well, when Jesus does take over, He will destroy all the wicked that serve Satan and try to fight HIm, and who martyred millions of Christians. I thought you believed He was never to judge?

Nope. They were sent by Rome.

The the judgment came as prophesied by Jesus. He knew the Romans would come and do what they did. God uses nations to accomplish His purposes. He used Babylon, for example, to take Israel captive for 70 years. That is factual history. Your zeal to divest true meaning from history is shallow rhetoric.

Hey dad, since you seem to know exactly what God is thinking, I was wondering what you thought about Jesus being God. If Jesus is God, and you can't kill God, then does this mean Jesus did not die for our sins? No harm no foul kind of thing. Only a person who did not have a strong faith in Jesus would ever think Jesus would not resurrect.

Do you think people idolize the words in the Bible to the point where they no longer have any meaning? How come no one ever quotes the Beatitudes but only certain Apostles like John?

I think sometimes Jesus is a false idol. I think there is only one true all-powerful all-loving God. And that God is God otherwise the word God would not exist? What do you think?

Don't worry, I already know I am going to suffer eternal damnation so you don't have to threaten me. My feeling is how bad can it be, it can't be worse than living in New Jersey.

That's how extreme Christians talk, though.
You can manipulate anything from history to bolster your ideas about Jesus
If you start with the real history behind the Baptists actions, and take it from there, historically, you end up with a totally different story.

You've proven yourself to be far less than reliable therefore I need evidence before believing anything you say.

Just because you post something does not make it factual.
Good luck with that request. I don't recall it happening before, but if it does, it will be an event.

No one could have touched Jesus unless He allowed it. That was part of the plan. If you think anyone will ever attack Jesus again, forget about it. I used to think that the armies of heaven would come and take over the earth for Him when He came, and maybe the saints returning from heaven with Him would help a lot. No. My understanding now is that Jesus by Himself will take care of business! The One who spoke the world into existence will come against the gathered armies of all the world to do battle. What surprises me is how the armies of the world actually think they had any chance whatsoever. No.

People quote all kinds of things actually.

Jesus is the One true God and creator of heaven and earth and King forever who is the only way to heaven and eternal life. That is what I think.

Don't worry, I already know I am going to suffer eternal damnation so you don't have to threaten me. My feeling is how bad can it be, it can't be worse than living in New Jersey.
People are not saved by being good. They are only saved by asking. Anyone can ask.
