The new "Alice in Wonderland."

Wasn't anywhere near as good as everyone hyped it up to be. It was just "okay." But I'd never even rent it when it comes out, or watch it if it's ever on TV :p

Just watched Avatar tonight. It's such a great movie.
Yes it is. Did you know that there were some people were so mesmerized by Pandora that when they realized that it wasn't a real place, they committed suicide? Jeebus. I mean, yeah, Pandora is beautiful, and I'd love to live in a place like that, but man . . .

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
I've watched a couple of good movies recently:

"Taking Chance" - Kevin Bacon was his usual excellent self in this true story of a Marine officer escorting the body of a fellow Marine killed in Iraq home to Wisconsin.

"Miss Potter" - wow, this one REALLY surprised me! I thought it would be a sappy, goofy movie about Beatrix Potter. Instead, Rene Zelwegger and Ewan McGregor were perfectly cast for their roles, and the movie was charming without being sappy. The photography was fabulous!

I recently saw Ingourious Basterds for the first time. I thought it was awesome. A thoroughly entertaining script.... incredible actors.

Had to see it a second and third and fourth time. Especially for the tavern scene... and the scene where Private Butz tells of his encounter with the Basterds.

Good times.

I know that movies are quite subjective, so don't take this personally - but my husband and I went to see Inglorious Basterds at the theater, and as we were walking out, we turned to each other and said simultaneously, "That was the stupidest movie I've ever seen."

We absolutely hated it - but to each his own!

I just saw "The Lucky Ones" about the trials & tribulations of soldiers returning from Iraq.
I couldn't finish watching it - too full of lame cliches & not interesting enuf.

I'm catching up on Stephen King movies.

Recently - "The Stand" and "Desperation." Both are excellent.

I suppose that's fair enough... when I saw Signs, while everyone else seemed to love it, I thought that was the stupidest movie I've ever seen.

It wasn't scary (though it almost tried to be) and I didn't care about what happened to any of the characters involved.

I'm with ya on that one - I thought that Signs was extremely overrated and overreviewed. In fact, it was inane in my opinion.

To give credit where credit is due, the artistry in "Inglorious Basterds" was above average.

I just got "Raise the Red Lantern" from Netflix and I am really looking forward to watching that. Anyone seen it?

I saw it years and years ago , but it is a brilliant film if a bit mellodramatic, but very beautiful.

My girls and I met my sister at the movie theatre and we saw Alice in Wonderland. We all enjoyed it. My five year old sat on the edge of her seat.
