I liked Mullholland Drive but I waited too long to watch it and had hints as to what was going on, which ruined it for me, (generally all it takes is for someone to tell me there is a twist for me to work out what it is) It also reminded me in ways of the musical Chicago, mostly the pontificating about the corruption endemic in the movie star lifestyle subtext.

My brother is hassling me to watch Moon, and I do love me some Sam Rockwell, but he has also told me the ending

Why are you chain watching the princess and the frog, are you secretly a 7 year old girl?

I love Ibsen btw, but a film version of Little Eyolf :sarcastic:

I have mixed feelings about all things Lynchian. I think he captures moments of sheer terror brilliantly but they're all too often buried in 90+ minutes of gibberish and silly dialogue that ruins much of what preceded it. But Elephant Man is still astounding and there are three to four minute portions in most of his films that are brilliant. But Eraserhead is melancholy through and through.

My brother is hassling me to watch Moon, and I do love me some Sam Rockwell, but he has also told me the ending
I came at it from the opposite direction: I'm baffled by Rockwell's success- I don't hate him, I just think he's bland... and he was a terrible Zaphod in a disappointing movie. But Moon is well worth watching.

My age and sex were never a secret. I turned 8 on March 17th so suck on that Irish girl.
The boy loves N.O. jazz and has a crush on Tiana. I have a crush on the frog.

I :blowkiss: Ibsen, and the film is really good.

I loved Eraserhead, it reminds me of all those creepy eastern european cartoons we were forced to watch as kids only more so, the way he maintains the unease throughout is fantastic, I think Lynch has been made worse by success, the money pumped into his films seems to detract from them, I think the more of him that is on film the less of the viewer is, that probably makes no sense, quite apart from the usual defects of my personality, I am very tired, but I know what I mean.

The first thing I saw Rockwell in was Lawn Dogs and he gave an amazing and nuanced performance, he has been in a lot of crap since then and is capable of hamming it up, but I still think he is a good actor, my guess is his best role is ahead of him. He was an appalling Zaphod, completely devoid of charm, but that was a fairly mediocre film ( time has softened my opinion on this btw, I was just calling it a piece of **** for a long time)

Ciara loves the movie H, let her pick out a toy last week and she choose the princess tiana doll, suck it Barbie, take that Bratz, viva a sense of middle class policticly correct, liberalism. :woohoo:

Yay! What is your favourite? just curious.

I guess I should check out the movie.

Lynch is very Czech with his imagery isn't he? Eraserhead could very well be a Jan Švankmajer project.

Alright, Lawn Dogs is in the queue now. Rockwell is one of those actors which people whose opinion on films mirrors mine keep telling me I need to watch more of- something other than Hitchhiker's Guide' or Confessions of a Deadly Mind.

I'm boring. I love A Doll's House despite it being on all teenager's reading lists in school. Other than that, my other favorites are An Enemy of the People and Brand. An Enemy' strikes me as a black comedy and I'm probably the only one to see Sinclair Lewis' satirical drama as being influenced by An Enemy' (I don't know if anyone even reads Sinclair Lewis anymore. :(). Brand is great- it's infuriating and the protagonist is such an unsympathetic character while being paradoxically fascinating in his theology and logic.
Does this mean you won't be PMing this pic to me four or five times a day anymore? :p

Tell me when you're finished, even if you hate it :)

Predictably I favour Hedda Gabler, I remember the first time I read it and I was so wrapped up in her motivation I was, all '' you go girl'' and then afterwards I realised that Ibsen had brain ****** me, genius. Only Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment had the same effect on me.

Does this mean you won't be PMing this pic to me four or five times a day anymore? :p
