I normally wait until they come out on DVD and just rent them from Netflix. That way when I fall asleep 10 minutes into the movie, I can just go back after my nap and watch it. I'm getting old. Sit down for 5 minutes and I'm snoring away.

But I digress. My son has been wandering around the house muttering, "Hello Elizabeth" and then "Hide the rum". Made even more hilarious by the fact that he's an excellent mimic. So this one I will go to the theatre to see.

That's great! "Hello Elizabeth" indeed!

Memoirs of a Geisha

I was kind of disappointed in this movie. I couldn't put my finger on why although I read the book first and I think it was too complex to do a decent job scripting a movie.

Boring????? My sister said the same thing, and I don't understand how anyone could think that was boring. Side note: Brandon Routh, wow!! Mmmmm.....gorgeous.

Superman Returns: I guess those complaining about this movie just want mindless CGI and action.

Psh! Drama's my favorite genre!

This movie actually has a heart as Superman struggles with the conflict of being away for five years and learning the world has moved on without him. Very entertaining.

It just bothered me how Superman/Clark's own heart was the antagonist for the first 90% of the movie. If I want to see some tough-*** people flying around saving everything, and doing it with style, Powerpuff Girls works just fine.

Transamerica - Felicity Huffman is amazing.
My wife and I have debated getting that several times now, and ended up with something else. We'll have to pick it up next time.

The last thing I saw was Cars, because of my son. I enjoyed it as much as he did.

My wife and I haven't rented in a while now, but Shopgirl was one of the last we rented. I saw that someone else had mentioned it too. T'was good.

I want to see that!

Good Bye, Lenin! - In East Germany in 1989, Alex Kerner's mother Christiane falls into a coma just as the Berlin Wall is about to come down. Eight months later, she wakes up, but her heart is too weak to withstand any great shock. So Alex goes to great (and often hysterical) lengths to keep the truth about her country's reform a secret.

Ditto that - I've only had fast food three or four times in the year it's been since I watched that documentary.

This movie is really good. I can't believe it wasn't even nominated for any kind of foreign film award in the U.S. The best reason I can come up with as to why is because of Americas political stand.
