Well, judging by what a handsome and charming guy your husband is, you must have incredibly high standards, it is no surprise a mere king didn't measure up...:D

It's true, I am spoiled with such an exceptionally handsome husband, not to mention charming too!

Last night I watched Tenacious D's The Pick of Destiny. I knew it was going to be a winner from the start when young Jack Black's oppressive conservative christian dad, played by Meatloaf, forbid rock and roll in the house so he prays to Ronnie James Dio for guidance. LOL! The magic mushroom/sasquatch segment is not to be missed.

Warning though, very, VERY rated R.

Did you see that boy who played the Young Jack Black? I thought he should have won an Academy Award for that performance.

Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma a.k.a. SALO (the Criterions Collection)
DVD/ Color/ 116 Mins./ NC-17/ 1975
Set in the Nazi-controlled, northern Italian state of Salo in 1944, four dignitaries round up sixteen perfect specimens of youth and take them together with guards, servants and studs to a palace near Marzabotto. In addition, there are four middle-aged women: three of whom recount arousing stories whilst the fourth accompanies on the piano. The story is largely taken up with their recounting the stories of Dante and De Sade: the Circle of Manias, the Circle of **** and the Circle of Blood. Following this, the youths are executed whilst each libertine takes his turn as voyeur.

I had heard about this film ten years ago and it was described to me as a very disturbing and graphic experiment in celluloid history. I was finally able to obtain and watch this movie recently but I am afraid that the film did not make the impression on me it would have a decade ago if I pursued it more diligently. Don’t misunderstand me, I’m not sorry I finally saw it. Though I have never met a film that tries so hard to repel the viewer, I enjoyed not the film or it’s intentions (it is not supposed to be entertaining) but I did enjoy Pier Paolo Pasolini’s direction, his vision and his cinematic philosophy and I do not think this will be the only movie that I see from him but I think that I tire from this type of genre having seen much worse in the past that was done more effectively in other films.

Idiocracy

I had not heard of this film by Mike Judge of King of the Hill and Office Space fame. So, I wasn't sure what to expect. This movie stars Luke Wilson and Maya Rudolph with a bunch of other people familiar with working with Judge.

Some of the funniest **** I've ever seen. Honest. Steve and I were laughing so hard I had tears rolling down my face and I thought I would throw up a couple times.

Basic premise: Luke Wilson and Maya Rudolph are put in human hibernation as a highly classified military experiment that originally was intended to last one year. However, because of a scandal involving the very staff that was in charge of the experiment, Wilson and Rudolph are lost and forgotten. The human race continues to become dumber and dumber from sloth, horrible language usage and comprehension, and vulgarity. 500 years later in a freak accident, Wilson and Rudolph are awakened to discover they are the smartest people of Earth.

The interactions between our two main characters and the general population in 2505 are priceless. Idiocracy is so stupid, it's hilarious!

Peace,
Mystic

Just saw Wild Hogs yesterday. Tim Allen was pretty much his old self, but John Travolta doesn't quite fit into a comedy act. And the humor was...eh.

I did love some of the references later in the movie, though.

I give it **1/2 out of 4.

The Number 23.
Without saying much, as it's a movie were even a little bit of info is a spoiler, the overall basis is abit corny, since the concept of 23 can be done with almost any number. But overall, it was a good movie. Jim Carry was even surprisingly good in it.
From boredom, I did discover my social security number
9+6+8-8+7-3+5-1/1=23. OMG THE PARANOIA!!!!!

Epic Movie. I HIGHLY recomend this movie.........
........if you'r thinking about going into film making and need a good self-esteem boost.

THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING ( with RIfftrax Commentary)

The 9th Annual Cult Film Festival is today and my friend Ralph is the center of attention. It is sort of a “coming out” party for him. Ralph never saw THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING, never read any of J.R.R. Tolkein’s stories and has absolutely no interest in the fantasy genre whatsoever…until Mike Nelson and Kevin Murphy of Mystery Science Theater fame decided to do a Rifftrax (a comedic commentary to movies that are asking for it http://www.rifftrax.com) on the first part of Peter Jackson’s LORD OF THE RING trilogy.

Now many of you are familiar with the hilarious sarcastic treatment of MST3000 but they usually target badly produced, low-budget affairs like the turkeys they used on their TV show. So why would they pick on Peter Jackson’s award winning Lord of The Rings Trilogy? We are just as curious as how they are going to humiliate this film and besides, we shouldn’t really care-our friend Ralph is finally going to sit down and watch the first part of the trilogy which was once considered absolutely taboo to him. Will he enjoy the film of its own merits or will he just wait until the Rifftrax crew covers the next two installments? Will Ralph finally take the journey unto which there can be no return? Will he be more interested in the riffing or the movie? These questions and more will have been answered after this evening.

Mrscardero is doing the cooking and there are chips, snacks and vegetable platters for appetizers. For the main course a pan of mrscardero’s baked ziti. She will be firing up the grill for hamburgers and hotdogs and for dessert, toll house cookies, Rice Krispy treats (my friend Chris Curry’s favorite) and a 9th Annual Cult Film Festival cake. Our second feature may include CLERKS 2 or the MST3000 version of the QUEST OF THE DELTA KNIGHTS which would make a nice comparison to “How Not To Make A Fantasy Movie”.
