THE DEPARTED
DVD/ Color/ 151 Mins./ R/ 2006
To take down South Boston's Irish Mafia, the police send in one of their own to infiltrate the underworld, not realizing the syndicate has done likewise in Martin Scorsese's multiple Oscar-winning crime thriller, including Best Director and Best Picture. While an undercover cop (Leonardo DiCaprio) curries favor with the mob kingpin (Jack Nicholson), a career criminal (Matt Damon) rises through the police ranks. But both sides soon discover there's a mole among them.

Wasn't this material already competently covered in the 2004 Hong Kong actioneer "Infernal Affairs"?

Stranger Than Fiction
DVD/ Color/ 113 Mins./ PG-13/ 2006
As a novelist (Emma Thompson) struggles with how to kill off her main character, IRS auditor Harold Crick (Will Ferrell) begins hearing her narration in his head and realizes he must prevent his own death. Crick's world turns upside down, and it's a life-or-death situation as he tries to persuade best-selling author Kay Eiffel to change the ending of her novel. Maggie Gyllenhaal, Dustin Hoffman and Queen Latifah lead the fine supporting cast.

Im gonna rent some movies this weekend. The shift manager that recomended Black Hawk Down to me also said Saving Private Ryan is also good. Well, he said somebody makes an awesome kill in it.
I'm open to opinions about that movie.

I liked it better that House Of 1000 Corpses and even though he revisited the same characters (Karen Black, come back to us honey) you can see that Rob Zombie is evolving as a film maker. Kick butt soundtrack too.

Entrails Of A Beautiful Woman
DVD/ Color/ NR/ 67 Mins. /1986
The Japanese Yakuza have stepped up their reign of terror, amping up the brutality of their crimes. After they drug and assault a young woman, she winds up killing herself in front of her doctor (Kazuo Komizo), who decides to seek revenge in her patient's name by taking on the mob herself. The punishment she metes out is worse than anything concocted by the criminals, who are rendered helpless by her endless quest for justice.

The Superman Animated Series Vol. 1 Disc 1
DVD/ Color/ 120 Mins./ NR/ 1996
In celebration of what would have been our son Kal-El’s 4th birthday, I coordinated the Netflix rental of The Superman Animated Series. Mrscardero saw the pilot movie but never delved into the series. There are two more discs coming in and I think she will enjoy them. Warner Bros. has had a decade long success at animating the Adventures Of Batman, The Superman Animated Series, Batman Beyond, The Teen Titans, Justice League and the recently cancelled JLU. If you have the means I highly recommend all of these series. The stories are ripped right from the DC Universe and the characters are fairly represented complete with evolvement. It is a better viewing experience than any live action endeavor so far.

ART OF THE DEVIL II
DVD/ Color/ 100 Mins./ NR/ 2005
When a beautiful teacher (Mae Bia) is wronged by six of her students, watch out. Calling on demons and forces of black magic, she extracts an ultragruesome retribution against each of them. Directed by a collaboration of seven directors collectively called the Ronin Team, this occult shocker is plugged as a sequel. But don't let the "Part II" fool you: This disturbing Thai carnage fest stands alone.

BIO-ZOMBIE
DVD/ Color/ 90 Mins./ NR/ 1998
Think George Romero's classic Dawn of the Dead with an Asian twist, and you've got a handle on this Japanese cult favorite that pits unwary shopping mall strollers against a horde of ravenous zombies. Woody and Bee -- two clerks who work at the mall -- unwittingly raise an army of ghouls when they slam into a biochemical company employee with their car … and he begins a wholesale infection. Better charge it!
