Shapeshifter;
Not the best horror movie I have seen, but I have seen much, much worse. Worth a rental if your like me and enjoy checking out small name, small budget, small producing comany movies with a cast of no namers.

Snakes on a Plane;
I loved that movie. It was much better than what I had expected.

Deep Blue;
It was pretty good, once I figured out what was going on.

K-PAX;
Damn good movie, with a pretty good twist that leaves the viewer to decide what really happened.

Dungeons and Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God;
This one didn't hold my interest, and I moved on after about a half hour.

Day of Wraith;
A pretty good movie with Christopher Lambert. Definitly worth a rental.

Wayne's World 2;
I laughed really hard during this. Just as hard as I did during the first one.

The Last Warrior;
TERRIBLE.

Dagon;
A good movie based on Lovecraft's short story "The Shadow over Innsmouth."

It's my fault I have only been watching series discs.

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE: 25 Years Of Music (5 disc set)
DVD/ Color/ 350 Mins./ NR/ 1975-2000

LOST IN SPACE Season 2 (4 disc set)
DVD/ Color/ 720 Mins./ NR/ 1966
DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!! DANGER!!!!

Yea, i saw Pirates 3 too... I was sort of disappointed. I mean, the speacial effects were great obviously, and it had some good ideas, but it was so busy-there was so many random storylines thrown in. My friend and I spent the first half of the movie looking at eachother and saying, "WHAT is going on???". Especially at the very beginning... it was so random!!
I also the Da Vinci Code, and i thought it was pretty good, much better than it was portrayed to be by the critics... They went on about how "dark and gloomy" it was. Maybe I'm just macabre, but i found it good.

Let go
The Chess Players - A classic Indian film by the internationally renown Satyajit Ray. Satire of the Indian kings and common folk as well as the British as they paved their way through the country. Highly Recommended.

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - A subtler comedy with Bill Muray about a sea voyage to find the elusive and possibly non-existent Jaguar Shark. Recommended.

Flags of Our Fathers - A retelling of the history behind the famous photo of Iwo Jima and the lives of the soldiers involved in that shot. Highly Recommended.

Will to love
I saw about half of Aquatic Life and thought it was quite good...would like to see the whole thing some time.

Looking forward to both Spiderman 3 and PotC 3.

Recently my hub and I rented the latest Bond movie, Casino Royale remake. I thought it was very good...the best of the Bond movies.

Also rented Blood Diamonds, another excellent movie. Man's inhumanity toward man...fueled by the greed of the so-called 'developed' world.

Fearless Hyena 1&2
DVD/ Color/ 188 Mins./ NR/ 1983
Jackie Chan stars in both of the films in this DVD collection: Fearless Hyena 1 and Fearless Hyena 2. In the former, Chan is a martial-arts master who goes against his grandfather's wishes in order to fight. The consequences prove dire -- for the fighter and his family. Fearless Hyena 2 is made up of outtakes, excess footage and a loose plot involving Chan preparing for the ultimate battle between Heaven and Earth.

Did you think so - I understood it and it had a nice mix, of love, fun, comedy and action! Have you seen the first two - I think you need to see the first two to understand the third - as my mum didnt understand some of the parts like the Flying dutchman and what the ship was all about etc (which had been explained in the first two)

I really liked that movie. As far as "dark and gloomy" alot of people complained about that issue during The Crow. Some people must not understand lighting plays a major role in setting a mood, possibly even moreso than background music does. The opening scene would not have been nearly as tenseful had it taken place during the day, with plenty of light to see what is around the corner. The Crow would have been killed had it not had a dark and gloomy lighting.

I seriously think critics need to take courses in theatre, both acting and tech work, before being able to critique movies so they understand what is going on, and why certain techniques were used.

Ocean's Eleven;
This movie was completly different from what I thought it was. Abit long, but very interesting to see there plan to rob a casino unfold and take place. Definitly worth a rental, or buying if you can find it.

Well, it's been awhile since I posted on this thread, so here it goes:

Spiderman 3: Not the best of the bunch, but I'd still give it 3 stars. It was still a character study about Peter Parker. The ending was a little too much like an X-Men movie.

Pirates 3: I really don't understand all the negative reviews. Pirates 2 was much more difficult to follow than this one, IMO. Harry at aintitcoolnews.com has a review of Pirates 3 that I agree with. 3 stars.

Surfs Up: I was dreading seeing another penguin movie, but this proved to be superb - a pleasant surprise. 3.5 stars.

Crash: We rented and watched this movie this week. I really enjoyed it and will probably watch it again with the Director's commentary running. However, I'm not sure this was really Best Picture quality. 3 stars.

12 Monkeys - Good. Probably the best acting I've seen from Brad Pitt (fight club exception clause applies)

The Departed - Enjoyable one time watch, but I won't be back.

Pirates of the Carribbean(sp?) 3 - The only reason I went is Johnny Depp. Best actor in the last 20 years IMO.

Green Street Hooligans - Brutal. Absolutely brutal. I was looking away more than watching at times, but despite this and the slightly cheesy Elijah Wood, a very good movie.

Mel Gibson's Apocalypto - Decidedly average. Nice if you're a historical/culturally interested person, but barely scrapes through in the historically accurate stakes. Still good to see cultures as they (probably) were.

Pans Labyrinth - Really great Spanish movie... enjoyed it heaps.

Star Wars - Revelations. This fan made movie has... interesting acting, but considering the quality and time that's obviously gone into it, I can't give anything but a thumbs up.

Aqualung

Tasty
I hope to go see Ocean's 13 tomorrow. Ocean's 11 and 12 rocked my socks, so I hope this one is equally good. But it looks to be. The previews have shown the same humour and twists that I loved about the first two.

This Don Knotts double bill will leave you in stitches! In The Shakiest Gun in the West, Knotts plays bumbling dentist Jesse, who meets an alluring woman on his way out West. After the two fend off attackers, Jesse decides that although he's a mite cowardly, he's really a gunslinger at heart. The Love God stars Knotts as Abner, a gentle bird-watcher and magazine publisher who, through a series of mishaps, gets mistaken for a pornographer.
