Citizen Mod

DVD/ Color/ 82 Mins./ PG-13/ 1994
Rebellious teen Angie (Julie Bowen) and her three guy-crazed girlfriends steal a car and leave their humdrum town behind in this remake of the 1950s B movie. Part of Showtime Network's Rebel Highways series, the tongue-in-cheek film follows the girls on a road trip filled with wild adventures as they try to catch up with one of the girl's ex-boyfriends before he leaves on Naval duty. Paul Rudd, Dick Miller and Dee Wallace Stone costar.

Grey Muzzle
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer....
better than the first one, but still pretty bad. At lest Doom was more "Doomish"

Live Free or Die Hard...
Very fun, Bruce Willis is probably the only aging action star that can still pull it off convincingly. He ballances the whole "I'm getting to old for this" with just enough, "I'm to crazy to give up". Fun jokes, fun stunts. I only found two things that were pushing the whole "suspension of disbelief" thing. Not bad, considering. :D

Transformers...
Fun, not high cinema, but very fun. It did justice to my childhood memories.
Lots of good humor and great effects. The only real problem was that srturtle had problems telling the Decepticons apart.

Harry Potter: Order of the Pheonix...
Dissapointing. Good acting, nice effects, but if you didn't read the book already, then you are going to have problems following the story. Sad, otherwise it would have been a very good movie.

Is it sad that I found the Transformers Movie to be the best of the bunch? Lol...
ps. Truck not Monkey!!

I saw the documentary Black Gold recently. It's about the coffee trade, specifically in Ethiopia. If you're keen on fair trade there's probably not a lot you won't already know. If not, it might be an eye-opener for you.

It's worth watching just for the interview of the assistant manager at a Starbucks franchise. Hilarious.

The Kingdom I &2 a.k.a RIGET
DVD/ Color (well sepia colored anyway)/ 436 Mins!!!/ NR/ 1994
Originally produced for Danish television, Morten Arnfred and Lars von Trier's spooky drama set in a cutting-edge hospital follows the staff as they encounter unexplainable supernatural goings-on in the facility. Rattled by the bizarre occurrences, the medical workers eventually begin to question their faith in pure science, affording the sinister, unearthly spirits the opportunity to gain a greater foothold in this world.

Vicious Kiss
DVD/ Color/ 93 Mins./ R/ 1995
You've probably seen Fatal Attraction and Vertigo. Now, get a load of a woman who'll stop at nothing to appropriate a married man who's the spitting image of her dead husband. Angela (Monique Parent) is hung up on dead hubby doppelganger Jason James; unfortunately for her, Jason's not about to abandon his wife, Lisa. But that won't stop Angela, who drugs, blackmails and tortures Jason to try to win him away from Lisa. Now that's foreplay!

Rooster Cogburn
DVD/ Color/ 107 Mins./ PG/ 1975
John Wayne returns, eye patch and all, as the irascible Rooster Cogburn in this entertaining sequel to the Oscar-winning True Grit. This time, Wayne gets saddled with prim and proper Eula Goodnight (Katharine Hepburn), a minister's daughter who's more than a match for the cranky U.S. Marshal. The witty and acerbic Hepburn and classic Wayne are a joy to behold.

Reign Of Fire, I know ot came out in 2002, but this was the first time I say it. It was on TV, I liked it.

Simpsons; The Movie
Theater/ Color/ 87 Mins./ PG/ 2007
Simpsons are brought to the big screen and though I had my concerns they handled matters very professionally. Everyone gets a little limelight and the actors who voice the family get a better opportunity to act. The jokes are quick and sharp and the animation will never let you watch another television Simpson episode again in the the same way. If you are a fan then you owe it to yourself to see this film. You won't be disappointed.

Two Mules For Sister Sara
DVD/ Color/ 114 Mins./ PG/ 1970
In this antic Western, Hogan (Clint Eastwood) is a mercenary who hires his gun out to the highest bidder. But he meets his match in Sister Sara (Shirley MacLaine), who's committed to helping a group of Mexican revolutionaries battle the French. The unlikely duo team up to join the fight -- and maybe earn a few centavos in the process. Funny thing is, Sister Sara isn't really a nun; she's a prostitute who's gone undercover to aid her friends.

Watched most of the Hills have eyes 2, couldn't quite finish it. It's a pretty bad movie if you ask me.

I went and saw Hairspray while I was in California, and I loved it.

I have to get tickets to see the play on Broadway now.
