I'll read your article, in sha Allah, but I wanted to comment on this while it was on my mind:

I don't think this is a good approach because we tend to associate with like minded people. If I like to listen to music, I'll have friends that like to listen to music. So they would not likely give me evidence to support the thought that music is haram. And of course it works the other way as well. It also works in a larger sense. Whole communities would be of mostly like minded people.Even though, a muslim could express his/her understanding of a good implementation of details and share it with the peers, whose feedback can help revealing the level of interference of the inciting self.
