I was a Christian and was driven out of the church by good Christians. Since then i have read the bible (3 different versions actually) and it's all there, the hatred of different, kill the witches, murder those who don't agree with you (your god), beat the slaves, rape the women, steal the land. All condoned by your god belief. So pardon ne if i think your beliefs are strange to say the least.

Don't give me that BS, there are close to 50,000 sects of christianity (all different ) and over 400 English language bibles (all different), who knows how many in other languages. The the different sects choose to interpret their favourite version of the bible in their own way. Many millions of people have died because their version of Christianity is not the same as someone elses version of Christianity, so kill them.

A true follower does this-John 4:22-24--They must have truth. Only 1 religion has it, not the mass of confusion claiming to be Christian. A true mark = 1 Cor 1:10= Unity of thought( all of Gods 1 truth) no division))))= 1 single religion.

I used to sincerely believe in God, and I would attempt to justify all the atrocities and violence that I read about in the Bible when I was a devout Christian. I also tried to ignore my conscience in my attempts to continue believing that the Bible was God's Word, infallible and inerrant. I would willfully disregard all of the discrepancies I found in the Bible, as well as the fact that Christians are deeply divided over its proper interpretation. However, my beliefs about the Bible shifted dramatically as I studied it intensively (along with Christian theology) throughout my evangelistic training and while aiding my nephew in his studies to become an ordained pastor. I essentially studied my way out of believing in the Bible, as well as believing in God, Jesus, and Christianity.

Its part of the fabric of society that people listen to promises of free riches or free this or free that. You believed in someone's promises. I wouldn't call it willful. I'd call it youthful. Besides you probably had a lot of distractions and things going on in your life.

Those who claim their group is the only "true" group dismiss all others, so are in large% agreement with those who dismiss all.

I do not 100% dismiss 100% of all the groups. There is good in all of the groups, and evil in all of the groups too. I do not believe any groups are led by God, but simply different herds of animals running around, following their various alpha/queen/pheromones.

It’s a heck of a pick up line. This past week it’s been tried a couple times on me here at RF, albeit less dramatically. It didn’t work though, surprisingly enough.

I think I’ll be alright. I put enough hours in as a Christian, so if the big fella is real after all he just gotta look at my childhood when I was a groupie for him. But hell and a vengeful Jehovah ain’t real. And even if they are real, I don’t believe it so your threats are akin to a fly buzzing annoyingly around me.

And why aren't you able to convince the other Christians?
You already believe in most of the same things, you read the same book. Why do proselytizers think they can convince atheists or people of other religions when they can't convince other Christians?

Multiple independent tests are crucial for scientific proof, multie groups all agreeing is needed to establish "truth".

A single test, a single group - might be influenced by errors or biases. By having multiple independent groups conduct the same experiment, the likelihood of having found a universal truth increases significantly.

I didn't say they were satanists, they are mislead. Gods chosen in Jesus day were being mislead. They fell over and over in OT.

They obey Jesus. No pick and choose. We are taught-Every utterance from God= OT-NT, it never stops. Jesus said-Man does not live by bread alone but by every utterance from God. Jesus meant 100% of all he taught. One cannot live by those utterances if they have not carefully studied them.

Every other sect has the same view, and they think their sect is the correct one.

So which bible do you use?

Remembering that there are no copies of the original bible for you to compare with.

Each version is different from every other version. So how do you know what you practice is what Jesus wanted people to practice?
