I don't vote for IQ.
I vote for the likely to be implemented agendas.
If a retarded felon with a wooden leg & a bad stutter could effect policies I favor, I'd vote for her.....or him.

Not to brag, but my own IQ is almost 70.

"..............almost 70".

I really doubt that!
U iz smart!
I've posted it before, but here it is again....
A friend who is much smarter than I was tested as a child,
& they found his IQ to be 72. So I figger I'm south of 70.
Btw, he managed to get a PhD in geology, & become a
productive citizen (unlike me).

People that think Donald Trump has a high IQ generally have a low IQ themselves.......
What should be scary it that there's a high probability that he's smarter than you are.
(If one believes the 150 +/- estimates proffered.)
He might even be as smart as @Nowhere Man!

I.Q. scores can be misleading IMO.

Some people ace almost all the tests except one or two, driving the score sky-high. For example, it's common for "brainy" people to score high in analytical reasoning, but low in social skills.

Others have a "below Mensa" score, but are also more balanced in intellectual abilities. I think an ideal leader might fit into this category.

While I think I.Q. tests can be good to help an individual understand themselves better, I wouldn't base someone's worth on such a metric. Individuals are too special to categorize in this manner.

Are we talking IQ test based on quickly figuring shape patterns, or are we talking about Jeopardy Mega Champion IQ? I am the latter! :D

Actually my IQ has been tested at around 150, but that was many years ago.

I can easily believe Donald Trump has a high IQ. But there is more to a leader than IQ.

I.Q. numbers depend on the actual test given.

It was the Stanford-Binet adult intelligence scale, because he was younger my brother scored 170, the scale only goes up 140 for adults, but a score of 140 means 140 or above, I was off scale.

I also took the Wechsler IQ test and scored a similar top score. And no, Donald Trump is no genius, he'd be ahead in the polls if he were a genius.

Absolutely right and how they are interpreted and by whom.
Years ago I took an I.Q. test administered by a young lady college grad right out
of school.
Some of the tests involved words on a paper and answers were what the words
meant.
I was bored silly so when I came across the word "encumber" I wrote
the meaning and added " or a large green, warty, veggie in my garden ".
She added up the score and added a note which said, "confused about some meanings ".
She didn't get the play on words or had no sense of humor.

Should IQ be a major factor, or even a requirement?
The US constitution states that one must be "a natural born citizen", older than 34 years of age, and have lived in the country for 14 years. Pffft!!

I certainly believe that other measures are needed prior to even entering one's hat into the race.
- Yes. The leader of the U.S.A. should definitely be smarter than the average bear. 100 or higher (sorry Rev)
- She or he should be or have been married, and have had child/children. (note: This one could be ignored for special circumstances, but if s/he had kids, then Loss of custody = loss of chance at presidency.)
- Must pass basic testing on geography, economics, statistics, diplomacy, world religions & cultures.
- Must pass basic testing to show that (s)he is more knowledgable than the average bear about current - international relations, scientific research, military tactics & strategies.
- No felony convictions.
- No history of "significant" psychiatric problems and/or dementia.

There should be more, but that just pops up right now.

Absolutely true. H o w e v e r . . . . . . I believe the leader of the nation should have an IQ at least higher than that of half the country: 100. Personally, considering Trump's delicate ego I don't think he'd risk finding out he's no more than normal by taking an IQ test. I firmly believe he never took an IQ test, and, like so many of his pronouncements, is simply lying about it. However, to be generous I'd put him in the first standard deviation above the mean.
