Olaf Scholz: the NATO will not be part of the Ukrainian War

I can't say whether the Allies would have won without the US, but I agree about the USSR, at least in terms of lives lost in the war. They gave far more lives to defeat the Axis than any of the other Allied countries did.
Is the number of lives lost a measure of efficacy?
Nowadays, I see a lot of downplaying of the USSR's role in defeating Nazi Germany, and I think that sort of historical erasure is fundamentally counterproductive.
Now it's fashionable to say that USA's role
in WW2 was either superfluous or wrong.
It is still true that the USSR initially helped Nazi Germany and then engaged in some of the worst atrocities in modern history after the war, though.
This is important.
Both Russia & Italy supported the war &
genocide....until it became to their advantage
to switch sides. Russia did eventually do some
good, but not with good intentions.

The European Union, from what I gather, was the threat that motivated the war movement against Ukraine. It was about being accepted into the European Union, which may have threatened Russia's security, given its democratic process of operations, particularly relative to geography. Beyond this, if NATO involved itself, some nations would likely abandon ship due to the onset of WWIII. It would appear to me that this is in part the strategy being utilized to this end.

For the record: Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Poland and Lithuania all border with Russia.
They are all in the EU.
They have never been a threat to Russia.

So even if Ukraine joins the EU, we all will vigil that the NATO doesn't play dirty...just to unleash WW3.

My fault, I meant Norway too.

Countries are applying for EU membership because they are frightened of Russia's aggression.

Really!
The same has happened in the UK; Brexit and the Tories are bank rolled by Russia.
Why are the GOP so keen on not supporting Ukraine?
I voted for Brexit.

Had literally **** all to do with Russia.

That was my point, specifically.

You are confusing EU with NATO. Finland recently joined the NATO because of this fear you said.
Norway is not in the EU. Only in the NATO.

My grandpa flew B-17s during WW2 against Germany and I'm sure it didn't feel very "superfluous" to him when his buddies were being shot down all around him

The European Union operate via democratic process, the territories listed belong to the European Union, the addition of Ukraine into the Union itself would increase the geographical threat to Russia as a Communist State, given the surrounding territories who belong to it.
