So, in your view, water baptism washes away sin?
It's not my view that matters, it's what the Scripture says that counts.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Of course it would. Jesus was a mere mortal like the rest of us and far from perfect, that much is clear from the gospels. I have no interest in eternal life, I hope I cease to be when I kick the bucket.
Jesus only became perfect upon being raised from the dead to die no more.

Some people are interested in immortality and others are not.

Peter clearly makes repentance a pre-requisite in order for God to forgive anyone's sins but you seem to insist that only water baptism is necessary.

Right. Repent and be immersed for the remission of sins is a command if one wants to be associated with Christ. That's why believers are said to be baptized INTO Christ. They associate themselves with his death, burial and resurrection and thereby become children of God and have entered into covenant for resurrection from the dead.

The resurrection of the dead to eternal life is the hope of the Christian.
And it’s a false hope
The Scripture teaches a resurrection of the dead, the sectarians teach immaterial souls going to heaven.
Actually different parts of the scripture teach different things, that is the reason why different sects teach different things, because they emphasise different parts of the Bible.

I am anti-religious. I am against the doctrines of all the Abrahamic religions but to accept that God is not Perfection is to misinterpret "made in His image" We are a copy and all copies have imperfections. God is perfection and anger is just a part of Love.
:) God does not exist, therefore, it is futile to talk of his perfection or imperfection. You mean your omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient God cannot even make perfect copies? My Linux OS and printer does better. Why are you so attached to the existence of this imperfect God?

Do we get a box or a bottle?

You mean the 'son of God' was not perfect till three days after his death? Some DNA problem? It was not God who breathed in but the Ghost. Ghosts are always a problem. Funny beliefs.

How ghastly!

"To equate the name of Jesus, as also referenced by the words of Jesus, being "the way, the truth, and the life" is to essentially interpret that the meaning of his death and resurrection, spirituality, reveals that nothing can really destroy or rid humanity of love, truth, and life." ~ Visionary

While I'm sorry this happened to you, I'm afraid that happened to far more than you, myself included. I've made the decision to respect their beliefs, as they exist in their reality, not mine. Judging them only harms me.

That's one of the dumbest thing I've heard. You and everyone else share the same reality. You are just as bad as the ones who believe those things, ex: slavery, murder, rape, etc. There's no difference between you and them. Their beliefs had already effect you to the point where it made you abandon your own beliefs(If you ever had different beliefs) and accept theirs.

Let me ask you this, "what's the difference between someone who believes that slavery, owning another human being as property, is ok and someone who believes that there's nothing wrong with slavery?"

I believe in the existence of a Perfect God. Who said God could not make perfect copies? How do you know this? Why would God make humans a perfect copy? .can Perfection not make something imperfect? By your logic perfection can only make perfection and so that perfection can not be perfect

We are an image, a one-dimensional reflection of a real object. From the reflection we can have an inkling of the original, but the reflection is literally nothing in comparison to the original. But then you obviously think a copy and an original are exactly the same thing. Look a little closer!
My journey back to this Perfection means I suffer little in this transient illusory world, knowing what my goal ultimately will be ......not so dissimilar to your view I believe!

The received wisdom in psychology is that for kids a bad marriage is better no marriage.
No it definitely isn't as I know for a fact. My parents spent all their 58 years of marriage rowing. I remember as a young teenager begging them to get divorced as it was driving my siblings and I completely crazy!

What truth? People who claim they have the elusive truth are the ones most likely to be in error!
The truth as revealed in Scripture.

A person who knows right from wrong and good from evil is an enlightened person. It's the same with truth and lies.

There is a lot of less than credible baloney in the Bible, with no evidence to support it. People with any sense should question what the Biblical authors wrote, much of it is as 'true' as the Harry Potter tales.

I don't know what we're so angry about but it feels great, inform me when you're really to get angry again. Thanks.

Well at least you seem to understand that the Harry Potter tales are not true.

I do question what the authors of Scripture wrote. And I find the answers in the same Scripture.

I can only speak from what psychologists and social workers say.
Mine argued too - but we didn't live in single-parent poverty without
a father figure.
