Nonsense. It doesn't matter who he nominates you would not like them. So this rant means nothing.

You do not know that. Most of us are perfectly happy to accept qualified candidates for very senior, very powerful roles in government. But what Trump is doing is unlike anything ever attempted by a President -- ever! I am sorry that you can't see that. Your blind loyalty to Trump is blurring your vision to what he's actually doing. If that's what's happening to most Americans, then I grieve for your nation. It doesn't matter who he nominates you would not like them. So this rant means nothing.
Unless I have been missing out, they don't tend to use the ad hom language as much here in the UK - not any who would want to be taken seriously. There is also self-irony that characterizes me...well...us.
I know it's more likely that I sleep with Leonardo Di Caprio than Ukraine winning the war.
I don't find it offensive towards me.
Actually I was looking for a practical way to change. No rules will be created while the current lot are in charge. They will have to be replaced by a more honest "lot" and that can only be done through selective voting. Just my idea, there could be a better way.Your prescriptions start too late! You want rules for after they're elected, when in fact you need rules for before they're elected. Campaign finance rules, for a start.
The US would not suffer badly if national elections were totally subject to national standards. Canadian national elections aren't run by provinces, but by Elections Canada -- which does not report to the head of government, but to the Speaker of the House of Commons.
America needs limits on campaigns -- gawd, you go on forever and day! The maximum length of an election in Canada is 51 days (and the minimum is 37). Do you have any idea how much money that saves? But more importantly, do you have any idea how that forces contestants to condense their messages into something that ordinary people can hope to understand?
I don't believe this at all.You do not know that. Most of us are perfectly happy to accept qualified candidates for very senior, very powerful roles in government.
Ho hum, more accusations. Do you have anything else? I don't think you understand what he is doing so we will just have to disagree. But what Trump is doing is unlike anything ever attempted by a President -- ever! I am sorry that you can't see that. Well, people believe (or don't) all sorts of things, all too often without reason or in the face of reason. I'm not much impressed by statements of belief.I don't believe this at all.
I wonder if you noticed that Matt Gaetz resigned his House seat shortly after his nomination? This is highly unusual -- to serve in Cabinet, elected politicians must resign, but they wait until AFTER Senate confirmation. Did you also notice that the House Ethics Committee was set to deliver a damaging report on Gaetz tomorrow? Well, of course, since he resigned, this has been scrapped and we'll never see it. Any connection, do you think?Ho hum, more accusations. Do you have anything else? I don't think you understand what he is doing so we will just have to disagree.
So are you fine with Susie Wiles, who was his very first nominee? What about John Thune? You do not know that. I have a right to my opinion. I just take the assessment more seriously than you.It doesn't matter who he nominates you would not like them. So this rant means nothing.
I'll admit I'm watching the Gaetz appointment but not for the same reasons some here have expressed. But what's your problem with Vivek? How is he not qualified to work with Elon to identify at least some of the waste, ineffectiveness, inefficiency, corruption in what many of us see as an out of control government?Nope. Trump is kicking a**. I just don't like Gaetz or Vivek.
Trujmp's slogan....Exhibit 1: Matt Gaetz attempts to enter Chinese propaganda into the congressional record:
My disbelief is based on the kind of rhetoric and vitriol the left spews at Trump. They called Dick Cheney a war criminal then embrace him when he endorsed Harris. Biden welcomes what they call a Nazi Fascist piece of garbage to the white house to aid in a smooth transition. They don't believe what they say, they do it for political gain, so no, I don't believe they would have good things to say about anyone he picks based on this evidence.Well, people believe (or don't) all sorts of things, all too often without reason or in the face of reason. I'm not much impressed by statements of belief.
I have said I don't like Gaetz, he was a bad pick in my opinion. But I don't think anyone on the left has any credibility to talk about ethics to anyone.I wonder if you noticed that Matt Gaetz resigned his House seat shortly after his nomination? I never said you did not have a right to your opinion. I just disagreed with it.I have a right to my opinion. I just take the assessment more seriously than you.
I have said many times on this thread I don't like the choice. How have you missed that?I notice you don’t approve or reject him, why not? Are you aware that most everyone is condemning the choice? Are you aware of his troubled past?
You use the left's hypocrisy to deny criticism of Magas. My disbelief is based on the kind of rhetoric and vitriol the left spews at Trump. Well, thank you. I lean politically left, so I'm unethical, am I?I have said I don't like Gaetz, he was a bad pick in my opinion. But I don't think anyone on the left has any credibility to talk about ethics to anyone.
You disagreed without any explanation. So who cares? When I offer opinions I explain why. You might have beliefs but you don’t give us reason to see that you used reasoning.I never said you did not have a right to your opinion. I just disagreed with it.
That I haven’t seen you say this. Plus why disagree with me when you agree? We both dislike the choice.I have said many times on this thread I don't like the choice. How have you missed that?
I think Elon can handle it. I am excited about the DOGE, it is about time. Vivek will be good in this position I can agree. I just don't like some of his political stances like raising the voting age, getting rid of H1B Visas, getting rid of the FBI, somewhat of a 911 conspiracy theorist. He also seems like a political opportunist and will change his stances if the winds change.I'll admit I'm watching the Gaetz appointment but not for the same reasons some here have expressed. The government will have spent roughly $7 trillion this year alone and I would guess a very few of any on this forum can name a single thing really good for America or Americans that was accomplished with all that money. Surely we can do better?
Never said you were unethical. There are plenty of politicians, media pundits, that are unethical including Harris and Biden.Well, thank you. I lean politicallyu left, so I'm unethical, am I?
I'll take that as a slur against my character -- since that is what it is.
The idea of DOGE is good.I think Elon can handle it. I am excited about the DOGE, it is about time. Vivek will be good in this position I can agree. I don't believe he is qualified enough, has the right outlook or ethical enough for the position. The underage stuff has not been verified, if it is true he is a POS.You disagreed without any explanation. So who cares? When I offer opinions I explain why. You might have beliefs but you don’t give us reason to see that you used reasoning.
I have never disagreed with you on the Gaetz pick. That I haven’t seen you say this. Plus why disagree with me when you agree? We both dislike the choice.
Vivek is 39 years old and will mature greatly in the next ten years. And if he seems a bit shall we say 'flexible' on things now, I think he is an extremely intelligent young man who will firm up a lot of his positions in those next ten years. I don't worry so much about the rhetoric on television that often reflects how a person is feeling at any given time. A lot of bright extraverted people think out loud that way but quickly adjust their opinions. Certainly he isn't the first to believe the FBI is so corrupted and deep state controlled that it is beyond redemption. But once you sit down and thoroughly analyze something, it is likely different conclusions will emerge.I think Elon can handle it. I am excited about the DOGE, it is about time.
