Vivek is 39 years old and will mature greatly in the next ten years. And if he seems a bit shall we say 'flexible' on things now, I think he is an extremely intelligent young man who will firm up a lot of his positions in those next ten years. I don't worry so much about the rhetoric on television that often reflects how a person is feeling at any given time. A lot of bright extraverted people think out loud that way but quickly adjust their opinions. Certainly he isn't the first to believe the FBI is so corrupted and deep state controlled that it is beyond redemption. But once you sit down and thoroughly analyze something, it is likely different conclusions will emerge.
Ok, we will see how he does going forward.

I think Elon can handle it. I am excited about the DOGE, it is about time. Vivek will be good in this position I can agree. I just don't like some of his political stances like raising the voting age, getting rid of H1B Visas, getting rid of the FBI, somewhat of a 911 conspiracy theorist. He also seems like a political opportunist and will change his stances if the winds change.
How naive. There is no "Department of Goverment Efficiency," and Congress isn't about to create one. Congress created GAO (Government Accountability Office) in the Budget and Accounting Act of 1921 to assist in the discharge of its core constitutional powers--the power to investigate and oversee the activities of the executive branch, the power to control the use of federal funds, and the power to make laws. It's core role is to provide Congress and federal agencies with objective information to help the government work more efficiently and save money -- just what Trump is pretending his fairytale DOGE will do.

Elon and Vivek are head of nothing -- and they have absolutely zero power to do anything.

Republicans in the Senate just told Elon where to go, by making John Thune Senate Majority Leader, with Musk's choice of Rick Scott dead last in a secret vote. Now I can hardly wait until Elon or Vivek come to Congress, in their roles as just a couple more lobbyists, really, and recommending any cuts in Texas, or Florida, or any other red state. It won't even get a vote on the floor!

The department could exist informally.
As I understand it, their roles would be
advisory.
But I like your suggestion, ie, it's the
GAO's job to deal with efficiency.

I take my hat off to the level of trolling displayed in these recent announcements. First rate political ****housery. Next to Gaetz, Gabbard and the Fox news guy as Defence Sec, Elon Musk seems like a sensible choice.

DOGE might be as successful as the Cybertruck.
Or his tunnels to nowhere.

The underage stuff has not been verified, if it is true he is a POS.
The underage stuff has not been verified -- and now never will be. The House Ethics Committee, which expanded its probe in June to include additional allegations, was to decide on Friday whether to release its report, but his resignation effectively ended the investigation.

On Thursday morning, the panel's chairman, Michael Guest, R-Miss., told reporters as he left the floor that he did not plan to make the document public.

As Church Lady would certainly say: "How conveeenient!"

Do you like them all?

None yet.
Trump doesn't focus upon expertise in the field.
But the year is young.
What is more important in an appointment?

Expertise but wrong attitude/values/agenda?

No experience but good attitude/values/agenda along with ability to think critically/watch/learn?
