These are not climatologists. they have different areas of expertise. It is next to impossible to find a climatologist who is not alarmed about Climate change. I'm sure if you really dug, you would find one here or there. That doesn't change the fact that the consensus of climatologists is teha climate change is real and influence by human use of fossil fuels.
Ok, in that case, please offer a link to one true climatologist that is alarmed.

Maybe read this:
In March 2020, American journalist Seth Hettena wrote an opinion-piece in The New Republic titled "Is Zero Hedge a Russian Trojan Horse?", and provided details on the links between Krassimir Ivandjiiski (the site publisher's Bulgarian father), and Soviet-era activities in propaganda, revealed during litigation initiated by the father against Hettena in the Bulgarian courts.[1] Hettena commented that Zero Hedge has become "a forum for the hateful, conspiracy-driven voices of the angry white men of the alt-right. Racists, anti-Semites, extreme right-wingers, and conspiracy nuts were an underserved audience, and, as it turns out, a profitable one."[1]

In February 2022, intelligence officials from the United States claimed that Zero Hedge has amplified Russian propaganda by publishing articles written by Russian state-run media.[83][84][85][86][87]

I think that is a evil lie to distract people from truth.

"On a sweltering day 35 years ago this summer, NASA climate scientist James Hansen announced in riveting testimony to the Senate that he was 99% sure that “global warming is affecting our planet now.” He bravely added, “It is time to stop waffling so much and say that the evidence is pretty strong that the greenhouse effect is here. I don't believe Jesus could ever be considered woke or socialist but then He wasn't conservative because the old ways were insufficient. However if one thinks of conservative as retaining that which is good then He qualifies.
If one considers progressive moving from the bad old days of an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, to the better brighter future of love and tolerance where we do not render evil for evil and do not judge others by your own beliefs and values, then Jesus qualifies as a progressive.

What does "woke" mean to you anyway? Is tolerance and equality a dirty word now?

Well that was 35 years ago. Surely they have found some scientific evidence against AGW by now, haven't they??:rolleyes::rolleyes:

And what proof do you have of this? I look things up as that was a necessity in my profession, so why don't you do the same and post evidence for your assertion that this is an "evil lie"?

Do you even understand what an eye for an eye means? It means the punishment needs to be proportional to the crime. Without "eye for an eye" do you know what you end up with? Two eyes for an eye plus the eyes of your wife and children.

There is a story in Genesis that illustrates what happens when society does not observe eye for an eye. Jacob and all his clan travel to Shechem, where his daughter Dinah is raped by the son of the ruler of that town. The rapist then goes to them and says he wants to marry her. They negotiate that all the men in Shechem must be circumcised in order for the wedding to take place. Then, when all the men in Shechem are sore and recovering, two of Jacob's sons, Simeon and Levi, went and slaughtered all the men of Shechem.

So perhaps you should think again before you disparage and eye for and eye.

So… your god condemning its entire creation - for eternity - for the simple disobedience of an Eve who lacked the comprehension of what a disobedience is ….. was that an eye for an eye?

I have no idea what you are even talking about. Since none of this relates to what you quoted me saying, I cannot figure you out. You apparently think for some reason that I am a fundamentalist. I am not.

Of course Jesus' teachings and examples are considered "woke" and "socialist" by conservative standards:
  • "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." (Matthew 7:1-2)
  • "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?" (Matthew 7:3)
  • "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her [an adulterous woman]." (John 8:7)
  • "For with the same judgment you pronounce, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." (Matthew 7:2)
  • "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions." (Luke 12:15)
  • "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." (Matthew 6:24)
  • "Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys." (Luke 12:33)
  • "Put your sword back in its place... for all who draw the sword will die by the sword." (Matthew 26:52)
  • "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." (John 13:34)
  • "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you." (Matthew 5:44)
  • "Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God." (Matthew 19:24)
it's wonderful that you are now becoming a believer in Jesus

One does not have to believe in Jesus to realize that he did have some worthwhile lessons.

Quick related question: Do you think that Jesus said "Go and sin no more"?
Or…. Borrowed lessons were ascribed to him. I’ve yet to find an original concept in Christianity other than ‘worship me or suffer forever’.

The same applies to the God of the Old Testament. What is interesting in his case is that we know that God did not do the most evil deeds ascribed to him, and yet some Christians still want to believe that those stories are true. I can't understand that. Did God ever flood the entire Earth and kill all sorts of innocent people and animals? No. Did God botch his creation and then kick out the people least to blame from the Garden of Eden and punish not just them but all of their descendants for perpetuity? No. Did his tribes use genocide to kill all of the non-Hebrews in Canaan? No again. All of this is good news that those events did not happen and yet some believers want to believe those stories where their God is the bad guy.

I'm imagining you in the crowd saying this to Jesus upon your hearing him say this:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. 41 If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
I'm pretty sure Jesus understand the law, but he seems to be saying there is a better way that an eye for and eye, or tooth for tooth. I actually see the wisdom in this. Ghandi did as well, when he said, "An eye for an eye will leave the whole world blind".
So perhaps you should think again before you disparage and eye for and eye.
Tell that to Jesus and Ghandi. :)

Windwalker, the gospels are completely unreliable. The authors simply collected the legends of Jesus that they could find, without any care to try and sort myth from literal history. I don't believe that Jesus said this, since I think the historical Jesus taught second temple Judaism. He would never have demeaned the Torah in this way.

However, let's just say for the sake of argument that he did say the above. In that case I would say that he was wrong, and that his teaching was dangerous. Not only does it break down the foundations of societal justice, it also rewards those who are abusive. If someone is bullying you, the worst thing you can do is comply with his unreasonable demands. Bullies need to be fought, or they will simply continue bullying you. If you lend money to anyone who asks, you will end up in poverty. It is just a very horrible, very morally dubious teaching.

I admire Ghandi very much. He and MLK Jr are my two favorite people in history. But he was wrong about "eye for an eye."
