And if these people were following scripture? Wh oknows but as I said look at the where and when.

Doesn't matter whether they were following ancient Scripture or the local doctor.

Common sense is common sense. Scripture is not needed. Unfortunately, there are many people who let their desire for pleasures take control, and common sense is destroyed.

However, there are many prostitutes who do what they do because they have no other way of supporting themselves or their families. The other choice: homelessness.

Yea generally in areas where disasters are MORE LIKELY to occur, based on LOCATION. And areas that aren't as well developed as others. Your point? Does god direct true believers to settle down away from geologically active locations? Does a belief in a christian god lead to scientific advancements and more knowledge that leads to a better developed, and safer country? How do you explain a country like Japan, with one of the highest life expentancies and lowest infant mortality rates, but only a ~1% christian population? Not only that, but it's in the ring of fire and has many earthquakes and has a large number of active volcanoes. Yet even in 1995 when they had an earthquake similar to the size of the one in Haiti, only about 6,000 people died. Was it their christian faith that allowed them to suffer 100,000 less deaths than in Haiti? Even when their population was more than 10x than that of Haiti? Seriously....

Not only are very few Japanese Christians, but many Japanese people pray or work part-time at Shinto shrines.

In other words, they're worshiping pagan gods.

Like I said: desire for sense-gratification taking over. The Biblical canon isn't the only place where this is advised against, if not downright forbidden.

I have to wonder what Jesus would have done with these lost souls? Would he summarily dismiss them? Or would he meet them where they are and help them? Seems to me that Jesus did not summarily dismiss the prostitute and start throwing rocks. Instead, he railed at the religious authorities who weren't practicing what they preached.

And your point is? I made a statement as to the why. Do you not think we have outreach programs? How do you think I know some of these things? They wont quit.

Pat Robertson is about as relevant to me as a pimple on someone's backside, and about as equally appealing.

I still remember his comments after the 9/11 attacks. Nothing this man says surprises me anymore.

"Have we no work-houses? Are the prisons full? If they're going to die, they'd better do it and cut down the surplus population." -- Ebenezer Scrooge

Your "why" is a red herring.

Heterosexuals do not engage in Sodomy.
:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:
Dear God! I can't breathe! I'm completely folded up in the floor with mirth. Where's my box of Kleenex?

Heterosexuals do not engage in sodomy?! Are you nuts?!

Most child abusers are heterosexual. Most prison rapists are heterosexual.

If you do not know, Hati is one place on earth where voodoo is still used and still works. This predominantly is due to the people being poor. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind, that some people in Hati would have made a pact with the devil.
So being poor leads to Devil worship??
I think one might need to learn a little something about Voodoo, there is no Devil worship in there.

It does make one winder though? Indonesia (tsunami), Iran (earthquake), Twin Towers (terrorism), Haiti (Earth Quake), Pakistan (earthquake), Mexico (Drug terrorism), California (earthquakes).
I am not agreeing with Pat, just point out other things.
Yeah, your god's a terrorist.

Also, LN, your attempt to characterize homosexuals as criminals and rapists is as pathetically bigoted as attempts to paint priests as pedophiles.
