Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.

On the coming of dawn the The Messenger of God (may peace be upon him) used to say in his prayers:

"O Allah (God), illuminate my heart with light, and my eyes with light and my ears with light and let there be light on my right and light on my left. Let there be light above me and light below me, let there be light in front of me and light behind me. O Allah, make me a light"

This hadith was related in Sahih al-Bukhari Vol. 8 p. 221-2

The Messenger of God (may peace be upon him) said:
"Be mindful of God, and you will find God in front of you. Acknowledge God in ease, and God will acknowledge you in distress. And know that help comes with patience, and that relief comes with distress; and that with difficulty comes ease.”

The importance of Tauheed (worshipping Allah alone without any partner)

Allah Almighty says: O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great at it. (Hadith Qudsi)

Sayings of our beloved master, Sayyidina Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa salam):

A strong person is not the person who throws his adversaries to the ground. A strong person is the person who contains himself when he is angry. (muwatta)

Beware of suspicion. Suspicion is the most untrue speech. Do not spy and do not eavesdrop. Do not compete with each other and do not envy each other and do not hate each other and do not shun each other. Be slaves of Allah, brothers. (muwatta)

Shake hands and rancour will disappear. Give presents to each other and love each other and enmity will disappear. (muwwata)

If anyone loves for Allah's sake, hates for Allah's sake, gives for Allah's sake and withholds for Allah's sake, he will have perfect faith. (Sunan Abu Daud: kitabus sunnah)

The most perfect believer in respect of faith is he who is best of them in manners. (sunan abu daud)

The believer is simple and generous, but the profligate is deceitful and ignoble. (sunan abu daud: kitabul adab)

He who is deprived of gentleness is deprived of good. (sunan abu daud)

Every important matter which is not begun by an expression of praise to Allah is maimed. (sunan abu daud)

And the most beautiful thing about all these sayings is that our Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa salam) did not merely say them. Anyone can say beautiful and inspiring things. The true beauty lies in acting upon it. The real beauty in our beloved propet (sallallahu alaihi wa salam) was he was the epitome of piety, a bright beacon shining in every direction the light of true and perfect faith.

"Charity is incumbent on each person every day. It is acting justly between two persons, saying a good word, every step you take towards prayer, removing a harmful thing, and showing the way"
