Forgiveness

The Messenger of God (may peace be upon him) said:

God (mighty and sublime be He) said:

"O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness as close to it in measure."

This Hadith was related by at-Tirmidhi (also by Ahmad ibn Hanbal).

On the Authoroty of Abu Abbas Abdullah, son of Abbas: One day I was behind the Prophet (peace be upon him) and he said to me: “Young man, I shall teach you some words of Advise. Be mindful of Allah (God), and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find him in front of you. If you ask, ask of Allah. If you seek help, seek help of Allah. Know that if the nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, it will benefit you only with something Allah had already prescribed for you. And that if they gather together to harm you with anything, they would harm you only with something Allah had already prescribed for you. The pens had been lifted and the pages have dried”

The Messenger of God, upon whom be peace, said: "When a person dies the benefit of his/her deeds ends, except three: a continuous charity, knowledge from which benefit is derived, or a pious child praying to God for him/her."

This Hadith was related by Muslim & Ahmad.

Mashallah, very nice thread, I've been introduced to many new words of wisdom.

"When you see a person who has been given more than you in money and beauty, look to those who have been given less." (Muslim)

"The strong man is not the one who is strong in wrestling, but the one who controls himself in anger." (Bukhari, Muslim)

"Your smile for your brother is charity." (Bukhari)

"Acquire knowledge. It enables its possessor to distinguish right from wrong; it lights the way to Heaven; it is our friend in the desert, our society in solitude, our companion when friendless; it guides us to happiness; it sustains us in misery; it is an ornament among friends and an armor against enemies." - Prophet Muhammad, peace and Allah's blessings be upon him.

"Whoever harms a non-Muslim has harmed me." - Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“When Allah decreed the Creation He pledged Himself by writing in His book which is laid down with Him: ‘My mercy prevails over my wrath.’”
It was related by Muslim (also by al-Bukhari, an-Nasa’i and Ibn Majah).

"A person who teaches goodness to others while neglecting his own soul is like an oil lamp, which illumines others while burning itself out"
for the sake of others i have filled my own soul with truth.

Luminous

non-existential luminary
‘My mercy prevails over my wrath.’
yet Middle Easterners and most Muslims portray Allah as more wrathful than the Christians(which ever of the many paths chosen) portray God.

P.S.
(pbuh)?- you don't have to pray for such things, if they are deserved they shall come.

Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“Allah Almighty has said:
‘The son of Adam denied Me and he had no right to do so. And he reviled Me and he had no right to do so. As for his denying Me, it is his saying: ‘He will not remake me as He made me at first’ (1) - and the initial creation [of him] is no easier for Me than remaking him. As for his reviling Me, it is his saying: ‘Allah has taken to Himself a son,’ while I am the One, the Everlasting Refuge. I begot not nor was I begotten, and there is none comparable to Me.’”
(1) i.e., bring me back to life after death.
It was related by al-Bukhari (also by an-Nasa’i).

‘I am so self-sufficient that I am in no need of having an associate. Thus he who does an action for someone else’s sake as well as Mine will have that action renounced by Me to him whom he associated with Me.”
It was related by Muslim (also by Ibn Majah).

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“Let not any one of you belittle himself.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, how can any one of us belittle himself?” He said: “He finds a matter concerning Allah about which he should say something, and he does not say [it], so Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says to him on the Day of Resurrection: ‘What prevented you from saying something about such-and-such and such-and-such?’ He will say: ‘It was] out of fear of people.’ Then He says: ‘Rather it is I whom you should more properly fear.’”

It was related by Ibn Majah with a sound chain of authorities.

The Messenger of God (may peace be upon him) said: "If you really trusted in God as God should be trusted, God would sustain you as God sustains the birds - they go out in the morning hungry, and come back to rest in the evening full"

The Messenger of God (may peace be upon him) said:
"Be mindful of God, and you will find God in front of you. Acknowledge God in ease, and God will acknowledge you in distress. And know that what misleads you will never enable you to do right, and what enables you to do right will never mislead you. And know that help comes with patience, and that relief comes with distress; and that with difficulty comes ease.

The Messenger of Allah (may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
“A man from among those who were before you was called to account. Nothing in the way of good was found for him except that he used to have dealings with people and, being well-to-do, he would order his servants to let off the man in straitened circumstances [from repaying his debt].” He (the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that Allah said: “We are worthier than you of that (of being so generous). Let him off.”
