Pelosi holds vote Thursday

I'm impressed! First thing since the election, they actually did something on schedule.

Anyways what are the socialists gonna do now being they are on a roll now?

Make things public and transparent ?
You do realize that Godwin's Law has a logical corollary, don't you? If one loses a debate by calling conservatives "Nazis" then one also loses the debate when one calls people on the left "socialists" . In other words using such language is a way of admitting that one is wrong.

Not when the Socialists admit they are socialist and not to mention, various organizations they belong to, and whom they were endorsed by.

I was wrong. It happened--and I'm glad. I would have voted against it if I were a Republican congress member, mind you, because of the proposed rules.

I'm not a bit happy about the rules. As it happens, the democrats can subpoena anything and demand anything...but the Republicans must request permission to subpoena anything, and the chair of the committee can veto any request/subpoena that the Republicans ask for. It's not even remotely an even playing field.

It wasn't a bit difficult to spot that. It's on the first page of the submitted draft voted on today. I spotted it, and later more than one commentator spotted the same thing.

I would call that really underhanded....and sneaky....and typical of the current Democrats up there at the moment.

Still, it's better than the way things have been handled so far, and if the Dems go too far with the veto thing, even the most partisan of their base should see something off. I say 'should,' but I'm afraid they won't. (sigh)

At least now the Republicans will have SOME ability to defend/react/examine things, where before today they had absolutely none.
We are not yet at the trial stage. This is still more like a Grand Jury, though the President has been given far more rights than anyone at a Grand Jury has. The trial in the Senate is where one expects to see what you are looking for.

If anything the vote clearly shows that Republicans are not against Trump in spite of the rhetoric we hear to the contrary.

Hardly. There's enough hard facts to show that they are socialist.

They are certainly not blue dog Democrats. That's for sure
Hanniy and the rest of the carnival barkers are not evidence. They're paid to demonize the democratic party 24/7

I think Trump could literally shoot someone on 5th avenue, **** on the flag, and keep under age sex slaves and the Republicans would still support him.
I might add a qualifier of "some" or even "many". The population as a whole wants this investigation. The Republicans should be for it, if their boy is innocent.

Likely because there wasn't any real point to it.

Republicans are not going to waste their time. There's more important matters to attend to like running the country.
Oh? Well they haven't bothered to vote on any of dozens and dozens of bills the House has passed so far. Now they're concerned about them, all of a sudden? What great timing!

I'll tell you just how predictable the Democrats socialists are. It will never happen Thursday.

It will be postponed , rescheduled, whatever.

So....there will be no vote on Thursday. That's the LAST thing that Pelosi and her crowd want. they will cosh it somehow.

I don't gamble....BUT I predict, with great confidence, that the vote WILL NOT HAPPEN on Thursday, because the Democrats will postpone it or sink it somehow.

I didn't start the 'there will be no vote on thursday.' assininity.

It was begun by two of you predicting that the REPUBLICANS would sabotage it.

.....and I notice that I'm the only one on this thread who acknowledged that I was wrong about whether there would
BE a vote.

How about you two, fantome profane and sun rise?

Will you acknowledge your errors here?

Will YOU acknowledge the blatant unfairness of the rules that just got passed this morning?

Will YOU admit that having the Democrats able to veto anything the Republicans want to do as far as subpoena power, where the Republicans have no such ability is just a wee bit unfair?

Will you admit that having this 'investigation' held behind closed doors for over three weeks without ANY input from Republicans truly looks bad...and was, indeed, very unfair?

Hmmnnn?

Whether you believe this or not, if the Republicans had done the same thing, I would be just as incensed. However, the Republicans did not do this....or anything remotely LIKE this, with Clinton.

Justify the actions of the Democrats in this. Whether Trump did anything wrong or not.

I dare you.

At this moment I can only confess that I have not read the bill. When I have had time to read it, consider it, and put in in historical perspective I will give you my opinion on it.

Is that fair?
