I have to agree with that, too. You, Penguino, seem incredibly bright. Not all children/teens are the same as you.

1. Most people think they are so smart, and it's so annoying. A lot of people I know have lost insight of who they are, and what it means to live. I blame the government more than most, and the people that run it. Society is brainwashed from day one.

2. All most people know is what they've been told, or read on the internet, or saw on tv... it's a shame. People are spoon fed "facts" and information and eat it up like ice cream.

3. No one can think for themselves these days, or at least come to their own conclusions. Most people are not truly happy. I walk around wal-mart, or any public place, and it is so obvious. A lot of people carry such a negative attitude.

4. Religion is not working it's magic anymore... why? While a lot of people claim their christian-like or believe in a god, they don't live their lives as such. People that do go overboard like crazy usually or misinterpret it.

5. Young teenagers are having sex, exposing their bodies, doing drugs, drinking, and all that nonsense. Why? because instead of looking towards a religion or a philosophy, they are watching tv, and this is what it takes to be cool, to be hip, and to be accepted by their peers. Do parents care? Maybe, what they can do about it? Kids lack discipline. A parent hits their child and they throw them in prison....

6. I've lost all faith in newer generations, and most faith in current generations. I'm lucky to live in a small town with mostly down the earth people, wish I could say the same for everyone else. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Greed and lust is taking over.

1. Blame the values society puts on itself: Materialism means alot these days. In my religion since day one of history have most people forgotten who they really are. The music and the need to be young is what drives people. Most people think there so smart but most people know very little. Keep the masses dumb and blind to truth and you got the perfect conditions to see American citizens thinking that Montana is where Ohio is... like what they show on Jay Leno when they ask people things they should know.

2. People are lazy they don't want to read, they want to be stimulated with fancy graphics and someone to read the news for them! Why do people both getting an education if they will not use it? Who knows what "truth" is according to the Major Broadcasting COMPANIES.

3. I work at rite-aid most people talk the talk but never walk the walk. They have been sedated, I look at them all and say to myself they are The Sheeple. People look outside of themselves for happiness, they want material possessions. They don't want anything else...

4. Religion has become a place of doubt and people ONLY turn back to it when bad things happen. You either get the hardcore anti-religious or the fundamentalist extremist. People are losing the connection with Religion because, DOGMA dictates everything, people are tired of the nit-picky rules of catholicism or the literalist line of evangelism or the militant extremism founded in Islam. You want to talk about people not thinking for themselves... Man look no further than with people and religion.. they only go for the popular things... Oh Atheism, Oh Christianity, Oh Islam... What about the esoteric? They don't look because, they figure whats inside is the same as the outside and religious powers condemn it.

5. I know its utterly disgusting, most teens listen to crap, watch crap and do crap thats not very rewarding. I said MOST not All. In the end they will grow up and one way or another realize they wasted there youth away doing stupid ****!

6. I live in suburbia on Long Island where most people are materialistic ******** who are greedy and lustful... I am one of the newer generations. Im not like most kids... I bothered to do work and research into religion, I always felt religion was there to help people its just the way it is present that makes some run away and others to cringe.

One of the many bands I listen to is Death Cab for Cutie. My girlfriend has since gotten into them, and I gave her one of their CD's. Her mother, one of those typical Christian anti-world types, asked her if it had anything to do with suicide cult. :sarcastic

Yea Godfather, I have no problem with religion. I'm not religious myself, but I definitely believe in the concept of religion. I also believe that the people who preach religion, are preaching it in a very inappropriate manner. I believe a lot of people need religion to cope with day to day life, and that's fine. But these preachers and such on television and church are just out of control.

While I believe that most Televangelists are out of control, as you say, I don't think that everyone preaching religion is doing it inappropriately.

You should come over to my side of town and watch Joel Osteen. If someone had no clue about christianity and saw him, I wouldn't blame that person for turning their back on christianity.

Exactly, if you want to talk religion, life, philosophize thats fine... but to Preach and Evangelize thats not fine, its childish and immature, evangelizing says "Your Wrong and I am Right!" Thats a turn off, I remember Jesus saying about being a teacher, "Prophets are not welcomed into there hometown and doctors don't heal people they know." Yet these Blasphemers to Christ True Message [which I believe is not exclusive to solely Christendom] ARE WELCOMED IN THE SAME GENERAL AREA THEY GREW UP! You'd think people from The Westboro Baptist Church would have a light bulb go on over there head, but nope because, they are not true followers they are brainwashed followers... *sigh*

There is a difference between talking your view and preaching it, most people get defensive like as if they are preaching there views that why I like this forum... I never intend to preach my view just talk about it.
